I don't know if anyone else has suggested this, make the telescope loose, tighten the carto down snug, then snug up the telescope but not to tight. The GG can push a center pin out of a Chinese atomizer easily so don't over tighten your telescope.
Any time the GGTS or its button gets hot fast its a sure sign of a dead short in the atomizer.

I am no expert on all this, but whatever your problem is, I don't think it's just dirty contacts, and I don't think cleaning is going to fix anything. If the whole mod is getting hot and the carto isn't firing, I am pretty certain you have a major short somewhere. Something is touching something it's not supposed to. It also should be pointed out that shorts can be dangerous.

First make sure that it isn't the carto, which I believe you have done. Next you need to start disassembling your GGTS and find out what isn't right. The only thing I can think of is that it would be the center pin and the connector, make sure the center pin is completely separated from any other metal. The only other possibility I can think of would be something to do with the button/bottom axis/bottom cap, but I doubt that.

Otherwise, are you using any kind of kick or safety fuse? And have you tried a different battery?

I am guessin you probably over tightened since it appears to be working now. When you shorted it out you probably collapsed the spring. When I used cartos I also used o-rings on the telescope to prevent over tightening and to keep the telescope tight at the same time. With GG atomizers since the senter pins are solid and threaded this is not an issue.
Glad you got it working.

After washing, what kind of product do you use on the contact to increase conductivity ?

I use mothers mag & aluminium polish from AutoZone. It works great and its like $6. This should remove any marks on your connections. With clean connections and threads you don't need anything else to increase conductivity.

hi my friend bump. Your problem is that you overtight the telescope. This problem doesnt occure on GG atomizers but it is a problem with China stuff. The center post of China atomizers is pushed from the GGTS center pin and produce a short.

My suggestion is you put again the spring on GGTS so you will have a basic protection against shorts and dont screw hard the telescope. Also, the atomizers that had a problem with shorts will always have a problem from now on because their center pin is pushed once and it will happen again. Better use new China atomizers and dont screw hard the telescope. Screw it until unit feels steady.

If you are using adapters on the 510 connector, they may be faulty. I had that issue before.

you beat me to it Benny!

i had the exact same problem with my first gg.

the 510 adapter that comes in two parts shorts on the inside and frys the carto along with it. they sell a gg made one here:

GGTS Adapter

that replaces the cheap ones.(worth every penny!!!) this issue drove me crazy for a week and of course it was NOT the gg but a cheap add on part that was the issue.

the short in the adapter was crushing the button and post springs too, causing further confusion:).

best of luck!

Ok, so leaving the tele tube looser is still working well for me. I have a DVG atty coming in soon and will be trying to get an Ithaka so hopefully those will work better. Thank you everyone for your suggestions I really appreciate it.

Ithaka doesnt have this issue bump. You may ruin the telescope but not Ithaka lol
