Hi all,

Tomorrow it will be a week since I got the DSE 901, and while I haven't smoked an analog since that day, I've had neophyte troubles aplenty with the 901. I've had THREE atomizers go bad. One is totally dead because I damaged it with tweezers trying to fix it (broke the power leads). And two other attys, while still producing vapor, give off a horrible burning plastic stench, which hurts my throat and lungs. I have tried heat cleaning them, by making them glow red, boiling H2O2 in them with the power on, vinegar, etc., and while the gunk is cleaned off the bridges, they still produce that horrible gas.

What could have gone wrong? I have been vaping about 1 part Ruyan PG fluid mixed with 3 parts VG. Too much VG?

I am worried I may slip back into the simplicity of analog land.

ARRRGG :(

I would say too much VG .

But I dont mix vg with anything so could be totally wrong.

Try 1 part vg to 3 parts commercial liquid .

Or even better stick with the commercial liquid till you have been vaping a while.
You know what they say about running before you walk .

Or keep one atomiser for experementing with your mixes that way if you do kill it all is not lost.

On the atomiser try soaking it in coke overnight.
give it a good rinse.
leave it to dry off.
re-prime it .

If you are lucky it will get rid of the cruddy taste.

If the atties die you will just need to buy more I dont think you can expect a seller to replace them.

I will give the coke soak a go. Could this horrid taste be burning VG... that nasty elephant in the room??

I'm in the same boat. I am getting the same taste. I get about four good drags and then that taste. YUK>> GAG>>>
I am kinda thinking we may be hitting it too often and not letting the atty get wet again. I am going to try taking two drags and then pause for two minutes or so. The problem with these is they taste good. IDK just a thought.
I have NOT been using VG in my brand new 901 and 801. I was using it in my 510 earlier this week and got the same results; so it must be user error.
Hit Hit Pause..

I ordered from there and they still haven't replaced my Atomiser.
I buy most of my stuff from www.eastmall.net - Eastmall International Co.,Ltd now and they work great.
I also have a burnt atty and it was from the filter burning and I can't do anything with it so I'll toss it.

You mean a filter inside the atomizer that's not visible without taking it apart? If so, this would explain much!

Under the bridge there are these hairs of nylon or something. I pulled them away from the coil and they were burnt. You can get that taste out if you just keep hitting it if you can get past the taste for a few minutes.
I saw no burnt cart materials in any of mine so far.

Ah yes! I have the same problem... I pulled that burned thread stuff out of my totally dead atomizer. I figured that could have been a factor.

What is up with that material?

The more you vape the more you need to top off your carts .

If you are as you say continuously vaping and getting a burning taste then you are not topping off enough.

Learn how many drags you get from 2-3 drops of liquid as soon as you have taken them top off your cart again.

You could also have 2 or 3 e-cigs lined up and rotate them after 4-5 draws.
That way 2 are always resting.
