So a few days back I posted a thread regarding a perfect build (for me) on my ipv3. It's still alive and kicking...but of course I can't stop messing around with my toys.
I'm so used to using mech mods and thick gauge Kanthal that I approached builds on my ipv3 the same way. Low sub-ohm builds, cranking up the power, having a great time. But today I deviated a bit. Grabbed my Plume Veil and wrapped dual 28ga coils around a 3/32" bit, 11 wraps each, metering out at .86 ohms. Did the math and came up with roughly 56 watts (7 volts) as the max I could push on the mod. Juiced it up and fired it up. Holy flavor city Batman!
So now I see the true benefit of these high-powered VW mods. No need to deal with thick wire. Power to spare. And apparently more flavor with higher-ohm builds
Maybe I'll try 30ga or ribbon next, I have a ton laying around!
