new to this forum thing and vaping. I’m trying to safely build on rdas and am doing so on my dual pulse mod and pulse 2 rda. I installed the squonk pin on my aequitas and installed coils but the ohms change drastically. I could use some advice. I would go to a shop and buy some stuff to get the info I need but amstuck at home with a broken leg. I

Ok... So there are several possibilities:

1; if the grub screws holding the coils in aren't tight, the leg won't make proper contact.

2; if the coil comes in contact with the post or side, or any other metal once the RDA is assembled.

3; if the coil is supposed to be spaced, but two or more wraps get squeezed together.

4; depending on wire type, say, a Clapton or other non-single wire, one of the wires could have a small break, which connects when heated.

I'm sure there are other possibilities, but those would be the most common.

Hi and welcome,
Please tell us what wire/coils you are using and the resistance of each coil.
Please post a photo of your build.

Cheers

Need more data.

It kind of sort of sounds like you have a partial connection somewhere but the description is so vague I can’t even be sure of that. Probably going to need pix.

There’s also some confusion. Which RDA are you currently using for one.

I’m using a Vandy vape dual pulse. I’m just trying to have an alternate to my pulse 2 rda. I have no problem with that one but it came with coils I use exclusively for that item. I’m gonna try building it in single coil mode with a better coil tommorow and see where I am at. I’m just not sure about how safe I am I’m using a regulated mod, but I really don’t know much other than to check the ohms laws to make sure the math adds up and to put it aside until you can

Welcome to the friendly bunch :)

As above.....as far as coil installation goes everything has to be tightened down properly. It's good practice to pulse your coils and then re tighten grub screws. Check there isn't a piece of metal loose in the build deck. As @greek mule says try re-installing the squonk pin...

Hope you get it sorted :)

By the way make sure you know your ohms law too...it's important

I took the coils out adjusted everything and came to this . The aequitas rda is just giving me problems as opposed to my pulse rda
The values on screen are fine. The selected wattage requires 4.61V for given resistance.
On the other image I see 6.62V how did you get that?Is your resistance fluctuating again?

@Rabstrut42, do you know that you've entered the wrong voltage in your ohms law calculator?

2 values that you usually enter are power in watts and resistance in ohms. Find the CDR (Constant Discharge Rate) in the specifications of your batteries which is measured in Amps and multiply it by the number of batteries used to find the maximum Amps.
