I am currently working on a flavor for my SO, she uses pods and so uses salt nic. We have used multiple pod systems so that doesnt seem to be the issue so I thought I would ask if anyone might have a suggestion.
Currently I am just working on a watermelon, used 48/ml smooth salt nic, to about a 5. double watermelon cap. approx.15%
watermelon real flavors approx.10%
and just a bit of flavor enhancer.
mixed in a 50/50 pg/vg
spun it at 1100rpm at 110 degrees for approx. 1.5 hours
had her check flavors at 0, 20, 45, mins with no change to flavor.
she says that she is having a tough time tasting much of the flavor reguardless of which type of pod she uses. I would be happy to answer any questions about what I did or didnt do.

Off hand, it seems you might be using 4 times the amount of flavoring than you actually need. There's a point where flavor is actually lost once it's way past the recommended amount.

My best guess is that Double Watermelon should be started at around 4%, and RF Watermelon should be started at 2%.

And when you say nic salt 48ml to about a 5, do you mean ml or mg?

I was not ignoring the response about using less juice flavor, I simply did not want to reply without first researching and or trying to understand what was being said. I have never heard of anything of the sort nor could I find anything that supports this. I also started at around that level of juice flavor it has been increased as my sig. other tried and was having trouble tasting it. On top of that if you put it in a tank it tastes fine. My question was more about if using pods requires different methods to get flavor or had a similar experience. I wholeheartedly appreciate your comment and did take it under consideration, however I am not quite sure how that would work, not sure how more flavor means less flavor but I assure you that I always start at a low level on new flavors and add flavor as I go if needed, this is the first time I have ever had this as a problem and the only two differences are. 1 using salt nic which should not be much of an issue and 2. putting it into a pod system. 3 systems at that.

I agree, too much flavoring will cause this. Watch the video @Punk In Drublic posted for the explanation.

Also, a longer steep time could help if the problem persists after lowering the flavor %. Some of these flavors can take weeks to start to develop fully, 15 minutes or an hour typically isn't enough steep time. Some flavors don't need a steep, but most of the time those tend to be simple single flavor mixes.

AGIAN, I am not trying to be a dick THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE, It tastes great in a tank it tastes great on its own. Its not getting flavor in a pod

    Pods aren't flavor atty's. Period.

If you want some flavor to come through on a pod, watermelon isnt a good choice.

Berries like blueberry, blackberry are strong flavors and may come through nicely. Mints and menthols will come through. Also, cinnamon is a good flavor that comes through in a pod type device.

But flavors like watermelon aren't strong flavors to begin with, and for those you need a flavor atty. Pods are designed for their small size, not for flavor..

Most pods will not offer as much flavor as a tank. And some flavors don’t work as well in a pod as others. I would think fruits would work for pods, maybe just not the ones you’re trying.

Blue raspberry slush and cap apple pie work well in pods, but I don’t have a lot of experience with other fruit flavors pod juices tbh.
