So, ever since I've had this atomizer it has brought nothing but anger. It leaks out the fill hole like none other.

The ball bearing is intact and maybe fine. If I leave it sitting upright (not being used), it will leak after probably a half hour. It will drip approximately three or four drips of eliquid and will begin running down the tank.

I just attempted to use it again, worked fine while I was using it. Set it down. Within a few minutes, this.

Granted, when I picked it up the juice flowed around and it wasn't so graphically mocking me anymore that the fill hole is also the empty hole.

Anyone else have this issue? Anyone have a fix? I can tolerate a little bit of juice that comes between the bottom collection ring and the base of the atomizer but full drips of liquid? Come on. I'd rather carry around my dripper in my pocket because at least then I know it can only ooze out 5 or so drips of liquid.

I have had my HCigar 3.1 for about a month now....Up til yesterday I had no issues, but mine randomly started doing the same thing (leaking out the fill hole)...I cannot figure out for the life of me why it started doing it now, so I'll be interested to see what people have to say regarding this....

I have bought/built five of those hcigar kayfun 3.1s and none of them did that. I am hoping that it is something simple that you can fix right away...

First thing I would check is all the o-rings. The one to watch out for is the little one that interfaces between the top cap and the chimney... it is small and easy to either misplace or have misaligned. It can also be damaged if you force your top cap on without carefully aligning the chimney into it...

more to follow...

Okay... assuming that all your o-rings are present and in good shape, and everything is screwed together nice and tight, I would do a pressure and vacuum check. To do this, first block the air intake hole with your finger, seal your lips around the drip tip tightly and blow (you should feel hard resistance, no leaking / hissing / gurgling)... then keeping the air intake hole blocked, suck on the drip tip (again, expect hard resistance with no leaking etc.).

At this point, if the Kayfun leaks out of the fill hole during the pressure/vac test, the little fill valve is the problem.

If you encounter leaking/hissing/gurgling during the pressure/vac test, you have a leak. The kayfun is supposed to be a closed system that will maintain vacuum during operation... The sealed system is what keeps the little fill valve from leaking. If you cannot isolate the source of the leak, clean the whole thing out and put a little bit of soapy water in it (dishwashing soap makes great bubbles) then do the pressure test again... look for the bubbles and you might find the leak.

I filled the fill hole with hot glue as it was all I had around. It leaked out the hole the first time I filled it. Now it works great and I just fill from the top.

I found a video which described flushing out the fill hole to make it hold on a r91. The hcigar hole would never seal like it did in the video even after an hour or so of messing with it. I wish it was just a fill screw like the EHpro version I have.

This sounds like exactly what I might do.

It has a vacuum, I have hard resistance both ways, but after I do that and set it down is when the leaking will occur, even though nothing is going out while I'm blowing out. The problem is the fill hole. It just doesn't work.

I'm content for now because my ss rope and ekowool came in today for my rsst. If it hadn't I'd still be ...... at this kayfun crap.

Here's some more info. I'm using cotton as a wick. My very first attempt I did not use enough and it was not wicking enough and I was getting burnt taste. Second attempt I double the amount I used and it wicks perfect. These were both 28awg on a 1/16 drill bit. I recently went up in size on the drill bit to 1/8 and still had the same problem.

If I had too much cotton, would it be leaking out the air hole or the fill hole? I'd have to say the airflow because the fill hole juice entrance is outside the chamber section of the device. But either way. It should work and it doesn't. It does this from full to empty. Fine while vaping but after I set it down leaks within minutes. If I clean it after it has dripped its few drops it won't leak, like it is supposed to.

I got my HCigar the other day and same thing. Liquid pouring out the fill port. I jammed a toothpick into the fill port and into the juice hole and snapped it off. I then got another toothpick and pushed the broken bits off in as hard as I could. Now it works perfectly and I just fill from the top.

To much wick can aid in leaking, you want just enough to make good contact with the deck, I usually cut the tails just long enough that it just lays along the deck right next to but not blocking the channels, don't compress it either, you want ease it down just enough it's making contact and remain fluffy(so to speak).

If its just leaking a few drops after you vape then stops leaking it sounds like your pulling to much juice through the chamber when you draw, once the excess leaks out it stops from what you're saying. Try loosening the AFC if you don't already have it wide open. If you do have it all the way open try using less pressure when you draw, slower lighter pulls so it doesn't pull so much in the chamber.

That's kind if what I was thinking. It is wide open now. I'll experiment after I dry it off.

Also anyone have a discoloration near their fill hole? I'm thinking it's from juice leaking and me not noticing so I don't wipe it off.

Decided to just try it... That's a fill plug from my rsst spare parts. It fits perfectly. Maybe some genius tinkerer can improve on this idea by cutting it down a certain way or something? I'm about to fill her up and give it another go.

Edit: I took a toothpick and stabbed at the ball bearing pushing the spring back and forth for a bit and pushing it in all directions. The toothpick got a tiny bit black on the tip. I filled it with my makeshift plug in and have now pulled it out. The draw seems tighter with the airflow screw in the same position. No leaks yet with plug out. Maybe something was blocking it or it wasn't in place out of the factory. It's one thing I didn't think to clean when I got it. I really hope this fixed it that would be awesome.
