I just got my first mech which is a hcigar nemesis clone. I put my KFL+ on but there was a gap so I took it off and was trying to adjust the pin but it won't budge. It seems the pin is screwed all the way in so I can't get a decent grip on the screw. Should I use a flathead screwdriver to turn it from the top? Didn't want to before I asked in case it's not a good idea. The pin is stainless steel if that matters.

Yes it has knurling. Hopefully the pic is attached. As you can see it's screwed all the way in and I can't get a good grip on it. I also tried using a vice grip and while it does grip the screw, I don't have enough grip on the curved edge to hold it. image.jpg

i have a nemesis with a kick 2 installed. you have to adjust from both ends to get it right. dont put too much pressure on your battery. take a flat head screwdriver and back out the screw till loose. turn it back in till it is just snug and see how it fits. too much gap, you will need to unscrew from the middle, remove battery and remove the button. once out, depress the spring and shorten the bottom pin about the same as the gap you had. screw the button back in the bottom. lmao. put in the battery, see how it fits. if it is hard at all to screw the unit completely back together, back off the top pin or un screw the bottom a little. you have got to find the adjustment that fits through trial and error. just remember if you encounter resistance getting it all screwed together don't force it, make an adjustment. they work great. good luck. keep the button push fairly short and lock it down for safety.

Sounds like that would strip the threads on the pin.

Just to cover all bases, these threads go in the normal direction. So, when the head, that the battery touches, is pointing towards you, you turn it counter-clockwise to loosen. When you put a screwdriver into the atty side you turn that clockwise to unscrew.

If mine were so tight I could not get it to turn with my fingers I would first try a appropriately sized flat screwdriver from the atty end. If that didn't work I would use a small needle nose pliers on the big end that the battery contacts.

I typically use the pliers to gently tighten the positive screw into the switch so it does not unscrew by itself. I'm sure using a small O-ring under that scre is a better plan, I just have not done it yet. Only had my Nemesis since December

Thanks everyone for the help! Turned out to be a simple solution after all. Used a needle nose plier to grip the bottom of the pin and it came off on the first try. I feel like a fool now.

Here it is next to the MVP2 I was using as my first device. SS on brass. 18350 mode with a KFL+. I'm planning to let it patina. I prefer a dull/matte finish on it. The bottom button will take a little getting used to but I'm liking it so far :)
