HCigar Stingray Clone Question

So I just got this in the mail yesterday. First mech mod and this thing looks awesome. No crunchy areas as far as threading is concerned. At least I haven't seen anything yet. After looking this over last night, I noticed an issue with the battery vent slits on the button switch. One of the slits appears to have a little bit of the stainless steel punch out left in it. Like when they were machining these, the piece didn't punch all the way out. Should I contact vape royalty and send this back? Could this cause any problems as far as performance is concerned (shorts, etc.)? Not sure if I want to go to the trouble of sending it back for something rather small if it doesn't affect the performance.

No its on the inside and I can't get to it. I might be able to get in there with some tweezers and try pulling it out.

You can take the switch apart. should be able to get to it then. Careful - small pin inside.

Yeah I already took it all apart. Still couldn't get to it. And yeah that pin is a pain in the .... Spent 30 minutes looking for it last night. I think I'm just going to call vapor royalty tomorrow.

Ok first time posting photos here so hopefully this turns out ok. These were taken with my iphone 5 camera so the quality is not that great. But I think you can see the little bit of machining punch left in one of the battery vent holes. One pic is of the partially blocked vent hole, the other is of the normal one, and the third one is of the bottom button taken all apart. You can see the piece on the left vent hole closest to the pin.

With a micro file you should be able to remove that easily

Thanks man. Im leaning towards just leaving it alone though if it doesn't affect the performance. Any ideas if this makes a difference? I haven't tried using the mod itself. Still waiting on batteries and a charger to come in the mail. Still considering contacting vape royalty and see what they have to say about it.

As long as there's a partial hole in that location, you should be covered from a battery venting safety standpoint. But you're looking at a potential to get cut on the bit of metal that's been left behind. Anything thin and strong enough to let you push against the leftover machining bits should do the trick. I'd think working back and forth a few times should get them to work out and break off. Then a small file, probably even something really cheap like those on nail clippers, should be enough to smooth it out.

So I'm waiting to hear back from vape royalty. Used the contact form via their website and described the issue. I'm going to wait to hear back from them before I try to pull the punch out and file whatever is left down.

Try Dremel tool with a small adapter

Fixed it. Took a paper clip and pushed on it....popped right out. No rough surfaces or anything so I don't have to do any sanding.
