Still sorry you had trouble with an eBay seller. "Knock on wood" todate I have had overly responsive vendors. Once I bought a tube style 30 watt atty and when I got it the fire button was a little intermittent. So I sent a message to the vendor and they said just pitch it in the trash or keep it for parts and we will send you a new one this afternoon.

dumb question but has this usb cable worked for connecting to escribe in the past? i know some usb cables are just for charging. even if you comp doesnt recognize your vt try 'force firmware update'. make its the latest firmware As well. although if it dont charge or connect to escribe, it might be a dead board. does it do anything at all? you try taking the batt completley out of þe mod, disconnecting all wires, wait a few minutes the put back in?

I would try a different USB cord. Seems like a lot of the time when people are having connection problems, it comes down to the cord.

Tried a couple different cables with no luck. I'll try and do the update. The mod turns on like it should it just doesn't seem to be recognizing that it's plugged in.

Not sure exactly what it is but that's whats on mine and I've had it since it first came out with no problems. Maybe someone else knows exactly what it is but I'm 99.99% sure that's meant to be there.
I just think it's weird that it's not mentioned anywhere, don't you think? Especially with all the talk about the threads being brass and all. And what other mod ever did you know to have a coating on the pin??? When did you get yours and what is the serial if you don't mind me asking?

My serial number is 1019 and it was about 2 or 3 months ago I think. Literally right when they first started shipping to people. And I do think it's odd and at first I thought it was a defect or something but everything works well and the brass 510 has been holding up great.
That's funny. Where did you get yours from? I just got mine from eciggity and my serial is 0763.
