So, if I understand correctly..... The vendor and the manufacturer are both responsible for supporting the device. But one is going to refer you to the other and it's likely that neither will support the product. Furthermore, there will be absolutely no support unless you paid 169 dollars.

It only took reading 50 posts saying the same damn thing to get that through my head.

So, when will this be available?

When the warranty is up.

But wouldn't Co-Op price void warranty? Proof of purchase required for warranty.
You could make your own invoice with MSRP value if necessary. How will they ever be able to find out?
I once made my own invoice when customs was asking for it. I bought an item from China and they wanted to have proof for the declared value. So I made a Chinese looking invoice (complete with stamp :)) and mailed it to them. Too much trouble for them to sort it out. As long as they have an official looking paper it's OK :)

yo han, I think as retird has pointed out, hcigar's warranty is unreadable anyway. I don't know for a fact but my sense is, the China manufacturer warranty is worthless so whether it's readable or in effect or whatever, doesn't matter. Likewise, I know of no vendor that will stand behind any electronic mod for a year. The warranty issue is a complete boondoggle.

So far, evolv has been stepping up to the plate to take care of any issues with the board, including boards in mods. Don't know if that will continue indefinitely but it does give me a lot of confidence to buy any DNA 200 mod without worrying over whether it's a craps shoot that it works. At around $120 or less, the mod is worth that price just for the board and box -- if the battery sucks, I'd replace it. At around $170, I'll wait for something more to my liking to come along.

Evolv and another supplier are selling the Fullymax pack that Evolv used in their prototype, so it stands to reason that peeps are gonna use what Evolv used......

I disagree.

Having personally distributed a couple hundred of the DNA200 boards, and watching the builds that have resulted from this distribution, I can tell you that the # of folks using the FullyMax battery is a very small minority, probably due to its high cost and low availability.

The vast majority by far (and no I did not keep a running tally, so I cant quote exact #s) have used the Turnigy Nano-Tech batteries. Hyperion , Duratrax, Gens Ace, Flightpower, Rhino, and MaxAmp were also used. I have only seen one Zippy used so far.

And to touch on the on-board balancer and monitoring system, most peeps in the DNA200 coop thread wanted Evolv to add-on a balancer plug so that user's could connect their own high-quality balancer....instead of using the on-board one.

This was true, but only for a limited time.

Out of ignorance, early on, people wanted to go with what they already knew from the RC world. This all changed very rapidly when the Evolv balancing circuit was independently tested and found to be quite top notch.

Now, hardly anybody wants the external balancer plug.

There are a number of folks that are interested and one step up and run this, but lets see inside the mod and get on the subject of do we want one or not and is it a good mod or not. The warranty is moot as is most for items bought direct from China.
Building a mod this way ain't rocket science since the DNA200 has everything on board. All the manufacturer does is slap a case around it and add a battery.
Warranty for the board is covered by Evolve.

With the 200 there is a bit more to it than that. The board should be setup (tuned if you will) depending on the battery and enclosure used and the limits set by the maker as he/she chooses. That's the short answer.

The dna200 I got from you turned into a dud. The generous guys at evolv sent me a full mod with no questions asked. I was shocked and amazed. Best costumer service I've come across lately. It's not a bad mod for $50.:)
