My computer tech showed up earlier this evening. He crushed out a Newport before entering my home.

We had previously talked about my conversion to vaping after 35 years of smoking. He did some research, and ordered a kit. Now, there would be the waiting...

Hey, I'm a Boy Scout at heart and always up for a good deed. I put a charged KR8 into his hand and opened a fresh menthol carto. As God's will would have it, the flavor happened to be V4L 18 mg. Newport!

Needless to say, he was impressed. He happily puffed on the borrowed battery while reinstalling my wife's computer. As he tinkered and tweaked, a thought came into my pointed little Boy Scout head.

"Hey," I said "I have an extra battery and some other stuff. Why don't you borrow some gear until your starter kit arrives?"

Grinning happily from behind the glowing LED, he offered to buy whatever I wanted to sell. We quickly agreed on a price, one where I lost a bit of money, but one which he could afford.

When he left, he had my KR8 PT, a USB battery charger, an auto battery, a car-USB adaptor and three cartomizers.

Folks, I believe we have a convert. As he left, he turned to me and said,

"I'll bet after a few days of this, I won't want a cigarette again."

"Yeah, they really taste crappy once you get used to vaping. Merry Christmas, man.".

One of the coolest parts of the story I think, is that I grabbed a carto from my stash at random, and it turned out to be his brand... Not to get preachy, but I find that the Hand of the Divine works right through us, if we let it happen. I could have just as easily grabbed some sweet flavor, or a bad tobacco simulant, but out of the maybe two dozen prefilled cartos in my stash, the right one found its way into my hand.

His interest in vaping instantly turned into gratifying proof for him. He had only finished his analog about ten minutes before I put the KR808 into his hand, and he had the chance to compare the two tastes.

I now have a new vaping buddy here in my little (population 25K) city. And yes, I'm sure that vapers will take over the world, one analog smoker at a time.

Thank God.

Yay, great story!
It's amazing when kindness takes an ordinary interaction and makes it into something special for everyone involved.

((The Salvation Army bell-ringer was outside the store the other day but she was singing some older sounding gospel song. She wasn't going to win any spot on American Idol but the joy with which she sang made me immensely happy, it was contagious. When I came out of the store, it looked like she was gonna need a bigger pot to put the money in. ))

Update: The computer tech guy was so happy with the little kit I put together for him that he went to one of our forum suppliers and bought himself a couple more batteries and an extra charger, a handful of blank cartomizers and a bottle of juice! LOL I guess there's no one quite so zealous as a convert...

He hasn't smoked one analog since the evening he first tried my KR808D-1. Good for him!
