For the last two weeks or so, I've been getting horrible headaches from the moment I start vaping in the morning, until I go to bed. Not every single day mind you, but most days. My husband sometimes gets them as well.
We have been vaping only an 80/20 PG/VG mix, 24mg. Not vaping all day long - and this happens in the mornings when I first start, so I'm not over-doing it.
I have also been drinking plenty of water so I know it's not dehydration either.

Should we possibly change the PG/VG mix to say, 50/50 or even 60/40? I'm afraid to use too much VG since other than headaches, we're doing well with PG - and I can't be sure the PG is even the culprit yet.

I'm not sure which way to go here aside from switching the mix up a bit. If that doesn't work, then what? I really do not want to turn back to cigs :nah: But these headaches are absolutely miserable.
(btw, I don't get migraines, so that isn't it either)

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks for the suggestions. Would this happen even in the mornings when I first start though? That's what confuses me the most. If it were a gradual thing and my headache was getting worse as the day wore on, then I'd say yes, definitely it's the nic mg. However, after the first say, 4-5 vapes it starts.
Is it possible to get too high a level of nic so quickly?

I'm no expert, but I think it is. You're inhaling the vapor/nicotine, so I'm fairly sure it affects you pretty quickly. In another thread, where I was asking about nic levels, someone told me 3-4 vapes would be enough to tell if I was getting enough.

I started by buying 24mg and cutting it to 12mg, but after 2 days, I cut it to 6mg, which seems to suit me fine. You might be better to start low, and if the headaches disappear, work up from there.

Yes it could, especially in the morning.. I started with 24 switched to 16 and now I am at 8, even 16 was to high for me, I am really sensitive to the nic and only smoked about a 1/2 of pack of cigarettes a day anyway, but even for my husband 24mg was to high.. I would start with lowering in increments and then if that doesn't work try cutting down on the PG some, my sweet spot is 8mg at 80/20 pg/vg..

I think your going to have to experiment with what will work best. might take a week and a few headaches more but you will know when you have hit the right level you need. Try having one cart with 18mg in the morning. if that causes a headache lower it to 12-11mg the next morning and see if that helps. and so forth. If your getting it down to 3mg of nic and still getting headaches i would recommend trying either a diff pg/vg mix, or try 36mg off the bat and see if u maybe just need more nic. I'm experiencing headaches as well if i vape for 5+ hours. so I'm going to have to cut my nic. I already tried going higher and it didnt help just made me light headed lol. So 16mg here i come lol

lolol the last two posters contradicted them selves LOL

Not sure how I contradicted myself, Pg gives me a headache if it's higher than 20%. If I use 80%VG and 20% PG then I'm okay. I usally have to cut anything with PG with VG and more flavoring. Some people have a problem with VG, others have a problem with PG, no 2 people are alike. That's why everyone has to experiment to find out what is best for them.

No, I understood what Cyia was saying. jude - you stated too much PG gave you a headache, and the previous poster before you stated too much VG gave him/her a headache.
OK, so, the easiest thing to start with would be lowering my nic in the morning to see how it affects me and moving up or down from there. If this doesn't do the trick after trial and error (and probably more headaches :( ) then I will start experimenting with PG/VG ratios.

Does it normally take a funny reaction to PG or VG this long to 'set in'? In the beginning, about 3 weeks ago, everything was Heaven..no headaches, no side effects at all, other than withdrawals from cigs themselves. Seems odd it would take this long if it were the PG or VG, but then again, I AM new to all of this, so maybe this isn't so odd after all.

But will try differing nic mg's first...
ugh..I was SO hoping to be one of the lucky ones who got it right from the start :(
Oh well..back to the drawing board. I will not give up, I will not give up, I will NOT give up! :)

Are you dehydrated?
Dehydration can give you monster headaches - people think htey drink 'enough' but when youre vaping you need 'more than normal and then some'. Make sure youre not taking in too much caffeine as well. Make sure youre getting enough Vit C too as well as potassium and magnesium (basically check your diet - most people dont need supplements unless they have a medical condition, and you need to be careful with potassium, but vit c isnt stored in the body so you can go nuts with that one)
Too much AND too little nic can both give you a headache - annoying isn't it lol. If you get nausea and maybe upset tummy (even a little) its likely too much nic. SO that one is quite hard to pin down unfortunately.

Actually I agree with the probability that it's the nic lvl. Both my husband and I have reactions to VG and they are almost instantaneous and also go away almost immediately after we stop the VG ( I won't go into detail but rest assured these side effects are uncomfortable.

HOWEVER on the nicotine thing. I started at 36mg nic when I started 64 (almost?) days ago... about 3 weeks into vaping I started getting headaches when I vaped Dizzying headaches I couldn't even stand up very well with em. Dropped my nic lvl to 24 mgs and they went away... this time around 2 weeks later I was getting headaches again... and it kept going like this... I'm down to 6-9 mgs of nic now (for the past 2 days) and no more headaches. It did take around 2 to three weeks to start getting headaches with each decrease! The most startling thing about that was... I never intended to reduce my nicotine intake... just wanted to eliminate analogs seems my body had a different idea.

Actually CaptJay..I did notice a slight upset tummy/nausea today. Not bad at all, but sure wasn't hungry and haven't really been hungry the last week or so. Never correlated the two..hmm
Thanks for pointing that out!
