EXPOSING ANTZ BIAS: HnB has been approved by FDA as a modified exposure product - only allowed if SHOWN to be true. As with vaping, removing the SMOKE removes nearly all of the risks. Same old ANTZ lies (gateway, dose doesn't matter, etc.)

For example, the authors cite a paper that found 45% of Italian "users" of IQOS were never-smokers. However, review of that study found that the survey only asked participants if they ever tried IQOS (not about regular use) and the never-smokers who had tried IQOS made up 1% of the participants, which translates toabout 20 people out of 2009 who answered that question. Hardly a conclusive representation of the population as a whole! Meanwhile, 3 times as many who had tried IQOS were current smokers.

Why should vapers care about HnB? If ANTZ get away with misrepresenting the PROVEN lower exposure of HnB, then they'll get away with using the same tactics on vapor products!

CRESCENT CITY, CALIFORNIA: (HEADS UP!) Affluent, white folks living in single-family units can vape or smoke in their homes, but folks in multifamily units (nearly 66% of whom are minorities & nearly 50% are low income or below poverty) must go outside.

Crescent City has a crime rate of 41 per 100,000 residents, one of the highest crime rates in the US. It's misleading for lawmakers to suggest that they are making their residents "safer" by prohibiting low risk vaping in multifamily units. Not only does it unfairly target minorities and the poor, it potentially exposes them to opportunistic criminals as they stand outside it turns neighbor against neighbor and potentially increases police interactions with residents that could needlessly escalate.

RESEARCH: Nicotine prohibitionists often have the Pollyannish view that people who smoke would be happy and healthy, if only they'd just quit nicotine. However, studies like this clearly demonstrate that the "why" of dependency is as important as the "what."

Millions of people try nicotine and the vast majority do not become dependent. The question to ask is why do some people keep using it, when so many others do not? I try not to post my commentary in this thread, but I'm amazed at what steaming pile of excrement article this is, starting with the very first sentence:

Compared to non-smokers who are actually admitted to a hospital for Covid, perhaps, but it's a gross lie of omission not to mention that smokers are seriously under-represented in hospital admissions to begin with.

and teens who vape are at a much higher risk of being infected with the coronavirus.
Correlation does not equal causation. I bet if they studied teen pregnancy rates, they'd find teen girls who vape (or smoke) are at higher risk of pregnancy too, but that doesn't mean vaping (or smoking) causes pregnancy!
