Agavehound-
I honestly would love your advice. I have tried threats, anger, crying and guilt. Juvenile diabetes is a tough disease.

I am also afflicted with diabetes, but I vape heavily. My last a1c was 5.5 and I seldom have blood sugar over 100. All my other blood readings are also excellent. Seems the vaping is at worse a non-factor...
Agavehound, I have type two. I do take one Glipiside XL each day. But basically, I had to come to the realization that I could not longer eat for recreation. Now its for nourishment only, and I can tell you that's no fun. I also spend an hour in the gym each day, no matter what, which is also a job. I'm sure that's one reason vaping is so pleasurable/important to me--its the one thing I do for myself and pure enjoyment....Holy cow Moedog!
How do you keep it that low? Type 1 or II? I can't imagine mine being that well controlled...yet.![]()
Four months ago my a1c was higher than 12. The doctor prescribed insulin, meformin, and lovastatin. I'm a type 2. I refused to take the insulin. I took the metformin and the lovastatin for 4 days and had to stop because of the horrible side effects (not going into details here). So I immediately went on the Dr. Atkins Diabetes Revolution diet. Monitored my bs 4 times a day, some times more. A month ago I had the follow up a1c test and it came at 5.8. I did warn the doctor that the next blood check is going to be higher as I'm celebrating the holidays, I will go back to the strict diet come January LOL.
Congratulations on your a1c, I know how difficult it is to manage it. I was able to figure out how food affected me because I kept a journal of what I ate and how it affected my blood sugar levels every day several times a day.
