Hi to all ! After one month and 30ml of happy vaping El Toro cigarillos 15mg on a 1.8 ohm Clapton on Triton 2 and being a newbie and all, I was feeling so happy I kicked my half a pack daily. Last few days though I switched to some new flavour and noticed that my upper lip went shore and dry, my oesophagus was burning and my lungs felt heavy. Somehow I felt like hot juice came up with vape or the vape got too hot (0.5ohm Clapton on a Cubis). Then my heart was beating like crazy for a few hours. Had to quit completely for 2 days take stomach meds and now Im sceptical:

is it overvaping ? is it the new juice ? is it the subohm ? Got a bit dissapointed and scared that I may have a hole in my lungs alreasy from wrong vape practise.

Any veteran out there pointing to existing links or offering advise will be my hero !!

i think its going to be really hard for members to pinpoint the problem, however, from my personal experience, I find any "menthol" juices to really irritate my throat like it would as if I was smoking an analog. Just my 2cents on different juices and my bodies reaction.

The heart racing sounds like your nicotine level is too high.

Tge burning of tge throat and esophogus sounds as if that juice had some sort of irritant to mucus membranes.

I woukd get a different ejuice with a lower level of nicotine.

This.
Sub-ohming, in general, requires a lower nicotine level. Just as an example, I started sub-ohming while I was still regularly vaping 24mg e-liquid. Anything over 6mg/ml would be too much for me at that point. These days I usually vape 6 mg on a day to day basis, and when I venture into sub-ohm or high power territory, I'm usually at (or near) 0 mg.

Before I started sub-ohming, I was using 15mg nic, and now that I'm using sub-ohm tanks, I've had to drop to ONE mg, and I can still get the racing heart and flutters if I use that all day. I have to switch to zero nic in the afternoons. I may be more sensitive to nic than most people, but I was a heavy smoker (2 packs a day) for over 40 years, so you wouldn't *think* so. Anyway, all that to say, if you're still using 15mg liquid in a sub-ohm tank, it's probably WAY too high for you. Drop down to 3 or 4 for a week or so and see how you feel, then adjust up or down from there.

Another vote for the Nicotine is too high. Heavy Lung is a sign of too high VG, might want to look into the vg/pg content of the juice (could be over vaping but doubt there is a hole in your lung). Stay hydrated when you vape, drink lots of water. Find another flavor or maker of juice as you could have an issue with a flavor used as well.

JMHO.......

Never ignore the possibility that the symptoms have nothing to do with vaping.

Your post reads like you just started vaping a month ago with El Toro cigarillos 15mg on a 1.8 ohm Clapton on Triton 2 and then you made a significant change in everything. Try going back to your original set-up and see if symptoms subside. If they do subside, then try your new set-up with the same juice at a much lower nic level (I agree with others no higher then 6). If that doesn't work, try a small bottle of a different flavor at 0 nic. Should that not work, maybe subΩ is a bit much for you at this point.

Yes, the nic, I think is to high. That referencing the throat, stomach and lip issue.

I would get stability in what I was using first. No pushing the sub-ohm and thinking about the juice flavors. Getting the nic settled would be first. I would probably just visit a local B&M for a bottle of lower nic and stick to that for a few days. Get one that the B&M doesn't make. I have seen some awful juice making conditions by small shops. Also, move the build up to .9 or 1.0 and stay closer to 3.7v and 13-15w. Just for a few days or until symptoms wane. You did not mention the brand/flavor of your juice and that is a consideration.

Oh, vaping requires increased water consumption.

Thank you all for your kind responses to my problems. I see a consencus on the high nic level with the sub ohm vaping and I tend to agree. I was subohming 6-18mg of the new juices but boy it just felt so good compared to my first 1.8ohm clapton I chain vaped for hours !!! The clouds, the hits, the flavours, the nic fix were just at a different level so I got carried away to the point I depleted a full cuboid of 6000milliamper in half a day (with 1.8 ohm it lasted me 3 days at 11.5 watt ).

The new juices were descent tobaccos from Liqua (sample pack of 5, 6-18mg) and Atmos Labs. Well they were not like el Toro, but still ok.

I guess that was a good lesson that there are limits in vaping especially sub. You can't just hit the fire button all day and be in vape heaven. I will definitely go lower on nicotine when subing but i will switch back to my 1.8 ohm for mainstream vaping. Too much of a good thing and pushing so high too early could be dangerous for some people.

That sounds like a good plan! :) Slow and easy at first, then work up gradually. I LOVE sub-ohm vaping myself, but it's been a learning curve for sure.
