hey guys. i don't own any regulated box mods but i really really like them. i want the regulation and the amazing battery life and the reliability. the only thing that is holding me back is i enjoy really warm vapes. i usually build my coils to around .15 ohm which gives a very warm dense vape. is it possible to get heat off of a box mod that can only go up to 40 or 50 watts? i am absolutely in love with the hex ohm box mod but I'm worried i won't be able to get a hot vape at only 50 watts and a .3-.4 build. so is it possible to get heat from a box mod?

0.15 ohms at 3.7v will generate a little under 92 watts.

So unless you tighten up the draw, you wont get the same heat from a 50w device.

The advantage to a regulated mod is to bump up the performance of a higher ohm coil. Like putting a kanger tank or making a 2 ohm genesis coil on a regulated device.

But even on a mech, 0.15 ohms is really pushing your batteries. I wont jump on the "youre crazy!" bandwagon, but I do hope you will be cautious with such a low build.

Ryan, did you ever smoke?
Maybe switch from Hooka?

It just seems weird to me. Your Post never seem to be about Flavor or really about Vapor, but all about Heat.

I'm just wondering if you have abused your throat to the point it has become desensitized and you cannot get what you were expecting out of a normal vape.

This is NOT an attack in any way. I have truly been concerned when reading your post, more so than those who get Low Ohm stupid.(.06ohm/etc).
It just seems you are struggling to maintain an enjoyable vape.

i appreciate your concern. i did smoke cigarettes but i do not struggle to get a good vape. i absolutely love my mech mods. i can get the heat that satisfies me with anything below like .3 i just prefer to build lower than that because aesthetically i enjoy a lot of vapor production. I'm very pleased with the vape i get from my mechs nd drippers i just like the features offered on box mods so i was wondering how the heat compares to a mech. i realize that my builds are pushing upwards of 100 watts but i thought maybe through the regulation and increased battery power a 50 watt box mod would have more heat. but apparently a 100 watt IPV2 is about to be released so that may be my ticket into the box mod realm

Hey Ryan, a week ago I got one of the new IPV2 50 watt box mods and so far I love it. I had only used mechs before and I exclusively drip (I cant get the other stupid tanks to work haha)

I started with a .3 ohm dual coil at 50 watts and it was just as good as my mechs, so was a .2 ohm dual coil at 50 watts. then I saw a video on youtube about building coils in the sweet spot for a regulated device, so I did, 1.47 ohms at 50 watts at 8.6 volts and.....holy cow! its awesome! heats up quick, nice and warm, LOTS of vapor.

If you have the $110 for it and the desire to try a regulated box mod I would try it! oh, I have been getting 6-8 hours of battery life out of this build too

In that case, I'd hold out for another few months.
Power delivery in Regulated mods is becoming a heated(Pun intended) Manufacturers battle. No doubt we will see many 100w+ units offered main stream soon.
Manufacturers are also working hard on reaching the .2ohm level.
We may be able to see a .2 type vape from a mod running 1+ohms soon.

A little tip - A well built .5ohm coil can out perform almost any .2 build. Once you reach the point the liquid is cooking, not boiling its all down hill.:D

Have fun and Be safe!:vapor:

I agree. I have a single 1.7 ohm coil on my zenith v2 and at 30w it's better than the .6 ohm dual coil I have on my mech.

I would suggest to anyone using a dna device or VW device that can go that high to build higher to get the full potential out of their device.

I usually vape at about 7.5v on my DNA and it's pretty darn warm for me.
