so yesterday I was in total bliss after vaping for the first time.

I wanted to buy a 510 but due to Visa charging issues I took home (for the weekend)
a “E-health cigarette” kit, and also the test disposable E-cig that the dealer gave me to try at his shop.

what happened was –
I didn’t try the “E-health Cigarette” kit,

I was vaping for about 10 hours on the disposable !! I was in heaven.

that’s when I first posted here in the forum with great enthusiasm, saying how happy I am.

at around midnight, the disposable died, (as it should), and happily I opened my E-health Kit.
I took a few drags.
it made a lot of smoke but I couldn’t “feel” it. felt like sucking on a plastic pencil.
I couldn’t feel the nicotine, although the cartridges said it is “high” camel.

I;m not sure if I am using the right terms – it’s like I take a deep drag, lots of smoke comes out, but no “feeling”. empty.
I used up ALL 10 cartridges one after the other,
desperately trying to get that amazing “feel” I had on the disposable and NOTHING.

Next day, Sunday (today), I started to feel the nicotine withdrawal symptoms.
my mind felt foggy and shakey.
I just bought a pack of Analogs and sadly started smoking it.
I will go tomorrow, Monday, to my dealer and see what went wrong.

I don’t understand !
the DISPOSABLE no-name cig gave me such a pleasure !!!
it was a bit bigger and heavier than the “E-health”, didn’t make so much smoke,
BUT I could feel the taste so strongly.
it had a hole, and when io covered the hole with a finger - Ahhhhhhhh - it was so strong and nice. rich.

it also had a strong dose of Nicotine, and this is why it lasted for 10 hours:
after 2 or 3 puffs it felt like enough nicotine entered by body and there was no nee for more !

now, I’m not sure the 510 is for me. I am not sure of anything.

yesterday I felt like a non smoker, now , with smelly fingers from Analogs I feel confused again.

Sure, I can always just buy lots of disposables, right?
but that’s way too expensive and also,
the point was to control the amount of Nicotine so that eventually I get to zero.

PLEASE give me your opinion – what went wrong?

Welcome to the forum Sharona, I'm sorry you've had a bad experience! What I think you are describing sounds like what we call "throat hit", plus the little buzz you get from nicotine. I'm thinking that even though your cartridges were labeled "High", the dealers idea of "high" and the Health-E cig's idea of "high" are not the same. You need some e-liquid to refill the cartridges with in a level of nicotine that you can feel. I would suggest atleast 18mg, maybe more, that is up to you. I'm not familiar with UK suppliers but I'm sure you can find some. Order some juice pronto! The 510 is a good e-cig and it sounds like it's working right since you are seeing vapor. Save those empty cartridges so you can refill them with some higher nic juice, I'll think you'll be good to go!

First off, their 'high' nicotine option is only 16 mg/ml, not sure what the disposable was but thats pretty low to start out. You should look into a higher quality PV like a kr808 or (if you don't care if it looks like a cig) a Riva or eGo. You definitely want to get onto a system that allows you to fill your own carts/cartos instead of buying packs of pre-filled. Also, by filling your own carts you can order juice with different levels of nicotine to adjust as you feel like. But, it could be worse, this looks like a relatively inexpensive kit, some of the members here got hit for hundreds of dollars before they found out about this forum and all the good equipment out there.

Hi and welcome to ECF. I am a total noob at this as well, only having a month in or so but I am wondering what the cart mg of nic is and what the disposable was. i dont know much about the e health cig but it looks like it may be a 510 atty (maybe a 401). But I think with either one you can use different cart o mizers with it.

Whats great about using blank carts and bulk ejuice is that you can tailor your need for the nic. For example I have a 1oz bottle of choco/peanut butter in 36mg. In the am I vape it just like it is, so I get that initial jolt I need. For the rest of the day I have a 20ml bottle of the same stuff but I diluted it down to 18mg. For the times I am feeling really jittery Ill use a drip tip and drip a few puffs of the 36mg and it gets me through.

I think the throw a way may have had a higher nic then the carts you got with the kit. like maybe they were 24mg and the ones you are using now are 16mg. It makes a big difference also what the content is pg or vg. more vg and u get more vapor less TH, more pg you get less vapor more TH. Its a fine line and you need to experiment where yours is.

Don't give up just keep trying. I was one of the lucky ones that quit analogs the day I started vaping. Some take weeks or even months before they are smoke free.

Good luck and keep trying. Hope I helped a little, there are great people here that can explain it alot better then I can.

Bob

Sheesh you guys type fast. Yea Sharona what the vets said above. (lol)

The disposables that I have had experience with have had a great throat hit and vapor and last fairly long. Your right though they are expensive and in my opinion don't taste that good.

That's the kind I started with first. Then I from the same convenient store I bought the rechargeable kind called NJOY. These I believe are similiar size to a 510 but I am not positive. I had to charge them often at first because of the fascination with it but the taste was still not that good to me. Plus the carts where in my opinion expensive.

Due to the taste, I decided to check online for an alternative and found prosmoke. At the time I didn't know anything about size. But I noticed their carts where half the cost of NJOYs. Plus you could order specific nicotine levels and flavors.

What I received in the mail was a prosmoke ecig that was smaller than the NJOY. I thought it was kind of cute but I quickly found I had 2 problems:

1. I have to recharge them much more frequently than the NJOY (I think this is because the battery was smaller).
2. I tried the 16mg nicotine level.
3. I ordered the tobacco flavor, coffee and chocolate.

The smaller size meant less juice, the nicotine level was lower than the NJOY , I couldn't stand the tabacco flavor and couldn't feel much of a throat hit at all.

So to remedy the problem I tried higher nicotine level 24mg (I think) and all the flavors they had except for Tabacco.

The result of that was better throat hit but I still have the problem of needing to recharge often and sometimes it tastes like smoking hot plastic. (Still trying to figure out when I need to replace my carts, that could explain the burnt taste at times).

Currently I find myself using my NJOY as a backup and occassionally use it when I want the higher throat hit.

So in my opinon I believe what happened to you was the disposable had a larger battery and gave a better throat hit as a result. And the kit you purchased must have had a smaller size battery, or lower nicotine and perhaps a flavor that just wasn't good.

To resolve my problem I ordered a GotVapes™ FLüGo uGo vGO 3.7 volt e-Cigarette Kit which I has a bigger battery and I hope will have a better throat hit also.

Another thing that might be going on is PG/VG base. Your kit might be VG based juice, which is less throat hit from what I understand.

Keep in mind I am new at this also. So take it with a grain of salt.

well, my current residence is in Berlin and right now i am in Peru... oh global me...
in a few hours going to my dealer here in Lima.

i already emailed him about the problem and he suggested to get a 510 with cartomizers.
(to make it clear, the kit from hell was the "E-health Cigarette", i purchased it cos it was cheaper)

Hope this will be the right choice.

right now i don't care for battery life or vapor.
i want it to look like a bit like a cig (yea, i know from reading around here - it's the classic newbie mistake) and i i want the throat Hit.

i'll update you how it goes when i am back from the dealer.

I currently have the Green Smoke e-cig. As for throat hit. It works pretty well. I believe their high cartos are 24mg. It has many cons, but it's been around a little while, and has fairly good reviews. My only major complaint is it doesn't taste like anything, you get the feeling of taking a "hit" but no flavor. Could just be their menthol flavor too, from what I've read, it's hard to find a good menthol flavor.

The other major complaint that people have with Greensmoke is that it's extremely over-priced -- for example, they sell their 5 pack of cartomizers for $14.75 while you can get them for less than $7 elsewhere:
The Better Way To Smoke - KR808D-2 Cartomizers

And they sell the starter kit for $139 while you can get it elsewhere for $36.99:
The Better Way To Smoke - KR808D-2 Electronic Cigarette Kit, White

So far I have had a good experience with the SmokeStik .....yesterday I had to use a "High Regular" carto because I was having nicotene withdrawal...but I have since switched back to "Medium Menthol". Hope to have some new e-liquids tomorrow with varying strengths so I can kick the analog habit. I am learning something new every few hours and have realized I will probably need a different device soon.

Hi Sharona,

Peru... how cool!

Sounds like you've seen that vaping can satisfy you, but that the "E-health Cigarette" kit just doesn't cut it. From what you said, it sounds like that model is not powerful enough for you... by no "feeling" do you mean not enough warmth in your mouth/throat/lungs on inhale?

I'm sure you can do better than buying the disposables. The recommendation to get a 510 is reasonable, many people are satisfied with that model. As are recommendations to get a KR808D/carto setup. Once you get a setup that's reasonably satisfying to you, there are lot's of options to fine tune things to your liking.

Also, there is a difference between vaping and smoking with how fast nicotine enters the body. Smoking is virtually instantaneous, a matter of seconds. Vaping is a little slower on the uptake. As a result, I vape differently than when I smoked, instead of one cigarette per hour, its shorter but more frequent vaping sessions, sometimes just one puff every now and then.

How much do you smoke?

These are the two most recommended starter ecigs - Joye 510 and KR808D-1 aka Vapor4Life (D-1 not D-2 aka Greensmoke)
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...st-electronic-cigarette-first-time-vaper.html

The D-2 is the fave of ripoff rebranders and is not thread compatible with D-1. D-1 is supported by the normal price US retail marketplace and multi-brand vendors with blank soft-cap cartomizers (most easily refillable), adapters for using other models parts, etc. The KR808D-1 is THE most supported 2-piece in the normal price marketplace, especially for soft-cap prefilled cartos and adapters. And you can get manual batteries which is what most people here use. Manual batteries are more sealed against getting killed by juice leaks since they are not dependent on a drag sensor in the threaded end. I also think they are less work and give more consistent hits. And they won't turn on accidentally from wind or vibration.

And for anyone who needs or wants 6-8+ hours battery life or ability to use harder hitting low resistance atomizers and cartos, skip the slim cylindrical ones and go fatter to EGo, EGo-T, Riva 510

I use both 510 with a blank soft-cap carto and Vapor4Life with a carto and I refill the cartos before they get dry and singed. I get days or longer out of each carto.
