This is actually my 2nd intro to the forums as I piggybacked on another post & I should know better
I've been a 1 1/2 pack a day smoker for 55 years & last month I found e-cigarettes. What a world of difference without analogs. 30 days now & not a hint of withdrawl or desire for an analog.
I started with an nJoy auto from 7-11 that I didn't care too much for but saw the possabilities, so I went to a 808d starter system. That worked very well & really put me on a solid vaping path. The only issue I had with the 808d system was the low battery life, at 280mah I was constantly charging batteries.
Next came a 14500mah powered 3.7 box mod which I really like, but I'm not getting the vapor or th that I expected from some juices.
As I'm a noob I'm trying a lot of juices from different vendors & evaluating each to find what I like.
I'm looking at MadVapes 3x vv box & a 3.5ml tank with DC carto's. Any thoughts on this??
What ohm carto's should I use on this type setup for all around use?
Also I LOVE coffee & from reading reviews that's a tough one to find a good juice blend of.
I like mine strong & sweet. Any suggestions on who has a good strong & sweet coffee juice mix?
Thanks for any help

Hi Cardslinger -

Welcome (back) to ECF. Congratulations on putting 55 years of smoking behind you.

Many here have been though a path similar to your. I as well started with 808d gear and have maintained that connection preference. It seems to me the next logical step is a vv mod as you have said above.

I've not used the 3x vv bos from MadVape. I have purchased the 3.5 ml tank with DC carto. Other than I'd like to substitute another manufacturer's filling material in the carto, it's a good tank. As far as what Ohmage cartos to get, you might send a 'ticket' to MV and ask for their suggestion. In general, the lower the Ohmage, the more vapor production and higher drain on the batteries.

The only coffee flavor I have tried is Backwoods Brew Espresso. I thought it was very good.

...wishing you good fortune in finding just what hits the spot for you!

Hi Cards, I use the vv box mod from madvapes and the dual coil carto tank. I have had no problems with it. With a vv I don't see a problem in regards to the cartos/ohms being used. I have not used any below 2.0 ohms simply because my cartos have lasted me over a month now and have not had to replace them.

I can't help you with the coffee flavor because I have only used the tobacco juices.

Good luck and I think you will be very happy with this set up. Welcome back...

Hi Cardslinger, welcome to ECF and congrats on making the switch (and quite effortlessly, to boot!). LR DC cartos work very well on 3.7v boxmods! As far as coffee flavoured juices go, you may want to check over in the eliquid review threads to get a better idea. Once you have your post count up past 5, you're free to post around the site. In the meantime, stick around here, ask a few questions, greet a few new(er) comers and get your post count up!

Thanks for all the quick reply's folk's & thanks for the link to the juice review thread, Im sure that I can find what I need there.
I did open a ticket on MV for the carto question but haven't gotten a reply from them yet, I'm sure they are very busy now & will answer soon.
The 3.5ml tank comes with a 1.5 ohm DC carto which might be too low for a vv mod.

You should be able to use your DC carto on the vv but won't be able to dial it in at high voltages.

I'm not sure what the amperage is (maybe 2?) but here is an Ohm's Law Calculator that will let you play around and see what works. (Ha, ha...who knew that our 'habit' would become a hobby that turned us into pseudo electrical engineers?!)
