First of all thank you for the forum. I appreciate all the info and experience you have all given by your posts. I've been smoking tobacco cigarettes since about 1991. After 18 years, I have (so far) quit with an e-cig. I finally made the jump to try out vaping when the cigarette place where I shop began selling an e-cig from a company called "pure smoke". Does anyone know about these cigs and how they rate against the others you've tried? I searched this site and was only able to find 2 video reviews which relate to this product. They were favorable, but apart from those reviews... nothing. I'd like someone to tell me what they think of this thing, and also (if you don't mind) help me to buy my next model. I know I'm going to need to trade up. I'll need a PV which can be refilled with liquid, produces lots of vapor (throat hit not important), and hopefully has a true passthru power source available (no batteries). This way I could ALWAYS be sure I'd have a vape when I need one. I'm thinking maybe 510, but all these numbers get so confusing... and they're not even the same manufacturer. I'm learning tho! Thank you in advance for any help... have a good one.

Welcome Klrtmto! And Congrats!
Don't have any experience with the company "Pure Smoke". I've heard good things about the 510 - lots of vapor. Most recommend it for beginners.
Depending on how much you're willing to spend, you might want to look at the mods. More vape, longer batt life. Look at the new members sticky's lots of info there.
I'm using the 901 and so far it's been great - lots of vape, throat hit depending on the juice.
Hope that helps some!

Welcome aboard!

I heard a 510 is a 510 is a 510. I've heard when a company buys them from the original manufacturer, the company puts their own name and price to it.

I have over a dozen 510s (no box) type.

I've 'heard' the Vapor King is a 510 with a bigger battery on it and last all day. If you go 510 and want to step up--you might look into it.

You also might look into pyramid tea bags to use for filler instead of regular polyester.

If you want lots of vapor and aren't concerned with throat hit, get some VG juice.

Having said that, and to try and answer your other questions...
I don't know what a "Pure Smoke" is but I have NEVER seen an atomizer like that before.

Also,the cartridges look huge...

I would imagine you can refill those cartridges though.
Unless there is a reason why you can't?

That picture IS indeed the cig brand that I've been vaping. I learned (from this forum) that the atomizers are VERY different from most other ones. The video review (I found here) says that these attys have no "bridge". I've never seen one WITH a bridge so I spose I wouldn't have known if not for this forum. Also these attys have a small 'ring' of polyester filling around the outside where the juice can seep down in order to wick into the heater coil.
I keep reading about the 510 (made by Joye) and the 401, 801, 901, and other numbers (made by others, maybe even multiple others). I looked on here and found brief explanations of each but not manufacturers names or anything. For example who manufactures the DSE901? Is there a company name? Website? I think I'm going to need to do a LOT more homework before I try to guess what would work best for me.
For now though, I've quit smoking tobacco cigarettes, and I only vape. Hopefully I'll be able to afford a PV that suits me well enough to KEEP off 'analog' cigs for good.

Thanx again all! any and all help/comments/suggestions are welcome. :)

Congrats on giving up the analogs!

To compare models, check out the model-specific sub-forums -- it's a great way to see questions & answers from other members, lists of suppliers, pros and cons, etc.:

Model Specific Discussion - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

Then you can look at the supporting suppliers sub-forums:

Supporting Suppliers - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

and also other suppliers:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-suppliers-forum/

There are lots of different kinds of mods, so you might want to check those out, too:

Modders Forum - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

Another great place for reviews is the video section:

Video-Reviews - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

I agree with the other poster about a 510 is a 510 etc. You don't have to get an expensive kit -- if you've decided on a 510, basically you need a couple batteries, some atomizers, and the cartridge tips. Or just get one of the generic "box" kits.

Again, big congrats on giving up the analogs -- feels great, doesn't it?

I'm pretty good at recognizing models and that one throws me for a loop! I though the atomizer was a bullet casing at first? Where'd that box come from... The 50's?

The first e-cigs were big and looked like pens (DSE801). Then they got smaller. Less vapor and shorter battery life, but really took off with the DSE901. The DSE901 was knocked off by the JOYE510 for it's awesome vapor and nicotine delivery. All that smoke delivers a lot move vapor but a drop in flavor.

The Joye510 is the current raining champ. The KR808 is the vapor king. It's got a cartomizer. Atomizer and cart all in one. People love it for the simplicity. The idea is you thrown on a new cartomizer and thrown it away when our done. So, it's more expensive if you're throwing your cartomizers away. Don't worry, it took all of about 10 minutes for this group to find a way to refill them.

The DSE901 is a wonderful machine, but you can just as easily start with the 510 and skip an evolutionary step. There's a website that I use for most of my orders.
www.heaven-gifts.com
Don't worry about buying anything, just bring it up and check them out. One of the things I love about the 510 is you can get adapters so you can try a 901 or Vapor King or 801 atomizer in the future. Lots of different batteries and such.

When you think you've found what you want, go to YouTube and do a search on that model. See it in action. Watch a few reviews.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Or search for you're questions. They've probably been asked a 100 times before! =)

--Prof Daffy
P.S. And you'll do yourself a favor by not trying to reproduce a cigarette. Size, shape, and color don't matter. Except the JOYE510 in copper (or a black model with a white atomizer). And don't think you can reproduce a cigarette taste either. There's nothing that taste like a cigarette. Most juices you can actually enjoy and have actual flavor! If you think you might like a flavor give it a shot.

Here's a video about the product...

YouTube - Pure Smoke Electronic Cigarettes

And, of course, a website....

https://www.puresmokeonline.com/shop/index.php?productID=115

For some reason I don't trust models the ship in packs like cigarettes. Reminds me of the cheap health e-cigs. But at $50 at least it's not a total rip off. We've all seen worse. A lot worse. Also only company I've seen that sells carts in a ten pack with an atomizer. Also the first e-cig where the cart looks almost as long as the battery! Seriously.

Nothing revolutionary but interesting.

P.S. This quest for knowledge is sure a burden on my beauty sleep! I've got juice to mix!

You guys are the best!
Ok so what I've learned so far...
The 510 is some kind of "industry standard" cig as it were... readily available, produces much vapor, dripping works well, and fancy 'mods' will use this style atomizer. I think I will play with a 510 first. Now (once again) I need a little help. I want to buy at least 2 (probably 4) black 510 batteries. 2 auto, and 2 manual. Purple LED's. I want several atomizers, a passthru, and wall, car, and USB chargers. Probably a PCC as well. I also need a TON of menthol fluid. I also need all this stuff PDQ because these batteries (on these 'pure smoke' things) aren't making me too happy. I'm kind-of in a rush cause if these e-cigs fail, I will be freaked out and I do NOT wanna buy any more analogs. ever. Where should I buy? There's so many websites....

Thank you guys again!

Thank you SOO much... I'm off to see the widow TONIGHT.

This forum is the greatest!

-Bucky
I'm off to see the Widow. Awesome.

I place my big orders through www.heaven-gifts.com. It's about a 7 day wait, hardly unbearable, but you can't beat the selection or prices anywhere. One shipment from them arriving in a few days and I'm already calculating next months order in my head.

As for the Widow... Give her a hug for us! Just got a shipment from here this week. She's kind of my secret supplier when I need stuff fast. Always a delight!

--Prof Daffy

I WANTED to be 'off to see the widow', but I waited until TOO CLOSE to Thanksgiving, and wasn't able to make it happen. So I'm still vaping these weird 'PureSmoke' things, and I bought more carts (they're too dern expensive) until I can get some 510 stuff & fluid. I didn't LIKE spending too much $$, but I feel it's worth it to keep me away from tobacco 'analogs' (love that term). Heh...

Thank you all for the other website suggestions as well... I'll be checking them out.

Happy Turkey day all!

I purchased everything you mention (except purple LED's) @ myPVshop.com. Plus, in the Suppliers Forum, I found a 10% Discount Code: IVape10
Excellent Customer Service and FAST shipping. Hope this helps.

Nice find, Chester. Prices look pretty good, too. I love my Chinese suppliers, but I like to keep some US companies on the back burner for emergencies.
