So I've been vaping for a few months. started with an ego-t then an ego twist then a vamo. I've had all the big name tanks, Ce4,CE5,CE10, vivi nova, D-box and all the kangers. Now Im using an rda I just picked up with a chi you. I love it. but.... It came with a stock installed coil @1.5 ohm I didn't like that much so I went back to the shop I got it from and they installed a .8 ohm that hits perfect. I want to try my own coil building. The shop doesn't sell wick/wire they charge 3 bucks and build you a coil. I don't mind the $3 but I want to do it myself I have a volt meter and extensive electrical knowledge also I've watched countless YouTube videos and Im confident in my abilities. I just don't know the wick/wire sizes the RDA I have had no name on the box but its small has 3 posts (dual coil) and a spinner piece to adjust airflow. It also takes a special little tool to tighten the screws in the post. Whew, it really isn't that simple. I would suggest that you start in Youtube, looking up silca wick coils and mesh wick coils to start with. Personally I go with 400 SS mesh with either 28 or 30 gauge kanthal a-1 on an RSST RBA. For silica wicks on my Protank 2, I like doubled over 2mm silica. Works for me.

Started with a Innoken iTaste MVP 1 (VV) a few days ago, then decided to go mechanical and now have a true Chi You with the AIOS T/D rba that I love.
Don't be too overwhelmed, it will really come down to a few parameters (wick, wire, and ohm preference) for the desired vape you are searching for.
Stick to 30ga. kanthal for now and 2mm wick to get the hang of bunching wicks and twisting the coils. Paying close attention to being as efficient as possible with the path the coil takes around the wick and evenly space them out to atomize as evenly as possible.
