this website is kind of overwhelming, and now i think i made the wrong choice in my starter kit.
my name is david, been smoking for 15 yrs, and looking for a healthier/cheaper way to get my nicotine fix. i ordered the smoketip starter kit and it should be here before the end of the week. any advice for someone new to vaping would be greatly appreciated

I have never heard of the brand you purchased. Googled it and seems to me it is an automatic battery with cartomizers. Much like the one www.Vapor4Life sells.
The best thing you have done is found the e-cigarette. In my opinion. Check out the return policy, just in case. If this purchase brought you here, then I say it was a great first purchase!
At the bottom of this page you will see a forum jump box. Go there and it will let you navigate around the site and you can read up on what everyone thinks about the different e-cigs that are available.
Have questions-ask and we shall respond. Good luck and welcome aboard!

If those are cartomizers, which I think they are, they are refillable. Be careful not to overfill them as that can kill an automatic battery. Go the the subforum on vapor4life and read up on cartomziers! You can save a bunch of money by refilling and knowing what to expect from you cartomizers. Below is a link. In my post above is a link to the website.

David, the important thing is you jumped in and did it. I have smoked for over 48 years and did the same thing in June, just ordered and wasn't real impressed with the first one I got but it made me play with it and find this forum, after playing for 3 weeks I got serious and found out about cartomizers then I found out about other things, anyway I haven't have a real cigarette since july 1st and haven't looked back, still trying different models snd juices but having fun with my new hobby and most importantly not smoking real cigs. SO Congrats to you

Welcome to you too, Windpray and congrats! I personally like the 510 atomizer. Lots of things to read here, juices to try and different e-cigs. I really do not like to push anyone to a specific product. We all have our own likes and dislikes. I am willing to help in any way, shape or form. I have tried various models and have found what I like, through trial and error, of course-LOL.

so reading some posts ive realized that "1 cartomizer =25 cigs" is a lie,,, so aparently the cost benifit from cartomizers is not as great as i had hoped

Completely depends on the user-In my opinion-they are waaayyyyy off on that selling point. That is across the board with all the carts/cartomizers.

I do both-with the cartomizers keeping them wet is the main thing. I am not sure about the system you have purchased. With the KR808D-1 cartomizers the tops can be popped off and you can keep them wet by dripping in more liquid. It may void your guarantee/warranty by filling the cartomizers, with your system. I like the cartomizers for when out and about for long periods of time. When at home I use atomizers and do what is called dripping. In the section I sent you to for reading, there is a dripping thread, also.

I hope Leppard Lilly comes back and tells you a little about the smoke tip. you can pm (private message) her later and see if she has some tips for you and what she has learned about that specific setup. If you click on her name you will have a choice to pm her or send her a message.

I am buying empty cartomizers and am trying out different juices, I have 6 batteries and alot of empty cartomizers and now on a quest to find the juices i like, I figure that a carton of cigarettes cost about $43 dollars here in South La, I smoked Winston 100's at about 1 1 /2 packs a day so I can spend quite a bit on juice and still be ahead, To me is isn't about saving money it was about not smoking cigarettes anymore

my goal is to save money, and be healthier. ive tried quiting smoking several times. even used chantix. but could never get over the hand to mouth part. i just like the act of smoking. but if nothing else, just being healthier is benefit enough. figured i smoke 1 to 1 1/2 packs a day, costing between 40-60 dollars a week, that if i spend 40 dollars a week still, at least its healthier

If you can find a juice you like up front and stick with it for awhile, you'll do great. It is learning to use and like the first e-cig you purchase and sticking with a specific e-liquid. Then you will have saved money and your health.
This is why I would like for LLilly to come back and talk about the e-cig ya'll have.
