Hi guys
new to the world of vape and have just took the plunge and purchased a coolfire IV.
Love the look and feel but am totally lost when it comes to watts and volts !!!

I need it in plain English !!

Do I have to adjust both or one or other ? If so what do they do ?

I probably sound a complete dope but hey, if anyone is going to be able to explain I'm guessing you guys will !

Anyway, thanks in advance, and the drinks are on me !

Adjust either watts or volts. Start low and work your way up judging
from the taste. Too high and you'll get harsh or burnt hits. Love
the Coolfire IV.
Edit - if you get a harsh or burnt hit, it's not the end up the world just
back down on the volts or watts till it is tasting good again.

Hello and welcome.

You use either one or the other method to adjust to taste. Whichever you use, the simplest thing to do is just start out low and turn it up until you get the vape that you like. I'd recommend using watts, because your device will then automatically adjust the volts when your atomizer resistance(ohms) changes. Using volts, you have to adjust the volts manually when you atomizer resistance changes. Try both, see what you like better.

One or the other, but not both. Whichever you pick, the other will automatically adjust through the machine as the third component of the relationship-- atomizer resistance-- is fixed by whatever coil is in the topper you have on the machine.Starting low and working up is the way to go. And welcome to the board. Nice choice on that Cool Fire.

With most devices, you have to choose either voltage or wattage mode. It doesn't matter which one, they both work together in the end anyway.

As stated before, start low (voltage or wattage) and gradually adjust higher to your own personal preference. Some people like it cooler (low power), some like it warmer (higher power). Also, when using a brand new "coil", make sure to start low again until the new coil is broken in.

Should you be interested in learning about ohms, resistance, voltage, wattage, and amps...take a few minutes to read my Ohm's Law Explained for Vapers blog.

Welcome aboard form another newbie. I felt just the same when I started - what settings to use, how did the thing work, how did you set it up etc etc. I started off pretty basically, found out my device could read the coil's resistance and then set the voltage to 3.7 volts and it seemed to work just fine for me that way - I picked up that my epipe fired at 3.7 volts so used that as a starting point.

The advice to start low and work up til you find the level that suits you personally is the best advice I've ever been given.

Good luck and enjoy the journey.
