Hey everyone. Lurked for a while and finally needed to post a question.

Just purchased a nautilus mini the other day. Like a lot of other posters I've read, the performance paired with the MVP2 was amazing for the first two days. The tank was pretty difficult to open from the bottom out of the box but I'd manage with some dented finger skin. Now the air control ring seems to be completely stuck. I can move it in small increments with a set of pliers, but it's impossible with my fingers. I have to use such a tight grip with the pliers that it's already chewed into the textured metal on the ring.

I'm currently soaking the base in vodka to see if it's just a buildup problem. Couple questions.

1. Is this just something nautilus owners eventually learn to live with. Set your desired opening and stick with it?

2. Without naming the vendor....I bought this in shop here in Chicago. Mine was pulled from understock and only had the opaque plastic sleeve over the box. Do these normally come with a plastic seal like a pack of smokes? It's crossed my mind that maybe I was sold a returned piece. Wouldn't be the first item I've had to take back to these guys. But I don't wanna say thats the issue without getting some feedback.

Hi, and Welcome :)

1. Mine came in the boxes with opaque sleeves. Sounds normal to me.

2. Sticking airflow sounds a bit wrong to me, and I can't see a 'build up' being responsible... as I take very little care of my tanks, really, and they haven't got stuck (yet).

generally speaking, e-liquid on things tends to lubricate them*. Cleaning in boiling water tends to squeeken things up. i.m.o. I always lube* the base of Nautilus after cleaning.

Welcome to ECF Acid!

To answer your questions...

1. No, it shouldn't be sticking like that. Admittedly it can be a little tough to move my ring around, I usually get a light grab on the tank and turn the ring so I dont unscrew the tank of the mod.

2. I remember mine came with a frosted/clear sleeve that was open at the top and bottom and was like a stiff plastic. It was the only thing wrapped around my box so no plastic seal or anything that totally wrapped around the box.

I doubt its 'gunk' or anything, it probably has a defect from the machine process or something of that nature. I would return if you could, sounds like you mightt not be able to though if you used pliers on the base. You could buy an extra base piece here Aspire Nautilus Mini accessories [8241.
