Would my photography logo laser engrave well? If so is it deep enough to do some relief details with black paint after?

Yes that would engrave very well. I'm not sure what you mean about deep enough for relief detail though. I mean the engraving "can" go all the way though the anodized layer completely if we really want, which would leave an area not of white, but silver like if it was mill engraved. If it's not that deep, then it comes out white and instead it's rough like a media blasted surface, which I'm sure if you really wanted to, you could paint on it. Am I correct in assuming that you want instead of white, to have it black like the image above?

Correct so I could get a little black into the deeper areas of the engraving and give it more depth and details. More like inking the deep areas only. Reverse of dry brushing the highlights. If you know what i mean.

Interesting. I will have to ask my engraver about this as he has more knowledge than I. Also, I am not quite sure as to the smallest this could get, but I DO know that lasers can be focused down INCREDIBLY SMALL. I know this because I've built more lasers in the last 5 years than I've used in Cartomizers in the last 2 years of vaping. The dot of a laser can be focused as small as a micron or smaller (not that I've personally done this), so it should be able to be pretty doggone small and still be visible, although your eye may not be able to perceive the resolution. So, I suppose that's relative eh? LOL. I will ask both questions and get back to you. I should tell you though that the anodized layer is only 1 MILLIONTH of an inch thick so, I don't think you'll notice any depth persay.

In the meantime, enjoy some laser related vaping fun.

That is a 1.7W blue laser focused onto the stainless steel wick of an Ihybrid and creating vapor as a result. (No it's NOT a viable option for vaping so don't even ask! LOL)

Hey Kenom, could you give me a guesstimate on how much it might cost to anodize a Vamo, just single color, like light sky blue, or like the silver/blue one circled in your image below

I don't have any funds for this right now, but just asking in case I decide I have enough $$ later on sometime.

Thanks and hope you had a good new years celebration, best wishes to you and your family for 2013!!!

I would love to do a VAMO, but I don't think it's possible. You'd literally have to remove every bit of the electronics in order for me to anodize it because I have to submerge it in the ACID bath. I've tried taking apart a Lavatube and while I did get everything out, putting everything BACK IN wasn't an option. Not to mention, if it's chromed, it's not aluminum. I'm certainly willing to try, but I won't be responsible for taking it apart, you'd have to do that. :)

Solid color $45, fade $65 if it's possible.

What will the laser do?I always wanted a laser that would lite a stinky but to late for that lol.

That is a great question. It will light a stinky in a few seconds, burn pretty much anything you shine it on with the exception of metals. Is a great tool for shining at the stars for stargazing. This laser has a visible beam for about 10 miles or more! No smoke or particulates are needed in the air to see the beam. Is also great for "laser light shows"

Ahh yes, sorry I didn't even consider that I'd have to take it apart! :( And yes, it's chromed too :( :(

Well thanks for the quick answer! I might consider it someday as I really like your work and the colors look great!

Is it even an option though, with mine being the black chrome? I think/hear it's brass underneath, that can't be anodized?

Thanks, well I guess I don't have to worry then! Maybe I'll buy a mod from you someday when I have enough cash to spare, I really like your anodizing work!
There are a lot of mods out there that I can do and some of them are pretty cheap in the grand scheme. I appreciate the support and compliments! :)

Did you do the anodizing on the HR by chance?
I'll have to say no because I've not a clue what the HR is. :)

Hell Raiser from iHybrid for Faceless and crew

Ahh gotcha. Nope he has another anodizer that he utilizes. He has asked me how much it would cost to have me anodize his product, but it hasn't gone any further than that. I certainly wouldn't mind doing a run of customs for him. :)
