Hi everyone. My name's Stew and I'm a 2 PAD guy who is ready to quit killing myself. I bought an eGo today for my 35th birthday after 20+ years of smoking. Last year I tried this as well, with a brand the size of a normal cig but I was left wanting due to lack of information and good advice. The company's website suggested that 12mg carts were comparable to to regular cigs, and it didn't work out for me. (Imagine that) Anyways, just wanted to say hi, and I'm looking forward to being tobacco free!!

Welcome, Stew. Congrats on the eGo and beginning a new chapter in your life. As you can see from the banner in my signature, I'm 10 days without a cigarette, so I'm not very far ahead of you. Don't sweat it if you still want a cigarette sometimes, or even if you taper off to a few a day for a while. Everybody seems to have a different pace that works for them. Some people get their PV and never smoke another. It took me 3 days with my KGO before I could quit completely.

Anyway, good luck and be sure and report back and let us know how it's going. This is a fantastic group here.

Welcome to vaping. Everyone is different. Personally, I got off analogs with 6mg, but other people need 18mg. Don't be afraid to up your nicotine and then lower it later. You will know if you are getting too much.

If you need an analog here or there, don't worry about it. The more you vape, the less you will need the analogs. When you feel the urge, try vaping first, then go to the analog if you are missing something.

Good luck! If you're a 2 pack a day guy, start at 24mg and work your way down over time. You'll have good vape days when everything is working beautiful, and bad vape days when everything goes wrong. Your body will go through changes due to the healing process, it will be uncomfortable at times but after a month or two you'll be golden. Stick at it, use the support network you've got here at ECF and enjoy it. Reward yourself along the way with new juices and vaping gear.

Rather than just right out welcome you, I'm going to help you.
Hell, I'll do both.
WELCOME!
Now hunker down with me for a bit, get your pen and copybook ready!

E-cigs run on electricity, and as with any device, the way it runs and the efficiency sort of matters. Your current setup isn't likely to be too efficient at burning your juice with enough amperage, and as such, is more than likely giving you weak drags, minimal vapor and poor flavor.

What you can do to eliviate this issue, is to pick yourself up some low resistance gear and by gear I mean cartomizers or atomizers, of any resistance below 2.5-3ohms.

They are available on most websites. Consider Madvapes, Crystal-Clear-Vaping and Electronicstix. Consider Boge Cartomizers as well as Smoktek 1.5-1.8ohm single coil cartomizers. They should provide your ego, even with its limited voltage, a very satisfying vaping experience.

You can also consider getting 18mg e-juice to see if it gives your head more of a spin and satisfies your cravings.

Thanks for the warm welcome and helpful advice folks. I appreciate it. The kit I picked up has the LR carts, and I picked up a LR atomizer so I could see if that would work better or not. I started on the 30mg juice and on my first day of vaping I smoked 3 analogs, but they're already starting to taste bad. I'm looking forward to having my lungs back!

You'll pick it up Stew, you'll have the hang of it no time. When I felt like a smoke when I first started vaping, I just grabbed my PV and vaped non stop for about 10 minutes, this normally took the cravings away. You've definitely got the right attitude, don't put yourself through hell, if you have to have a cigarette, have one. Over time the cravings will ease and the taste of cigarettes will be disgusting.
