Hello, everybody!

So, this is my first post and I'm about to open it with a stupid question. I have a bunch of cartos that are spent. I have heard about boiling them to get the old flavor out but I'm not so sure about that. Has anyone here ever tried it?

How long do you boil it?

How long do you let it dry before re-loading?

Any advice on cleaning the cartos would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, all!

I've had really good luck with an ultra sonic jewelry cleaner and a food dehydrator.

I boil mine for 15 minutes on top of the stove to start, rinse and sling.

Now for the jewelry cleaner:

Get some water almost to boiling.
Sling out as much water/juice out of the cartomizer that you can get out. Do it into a sink.
Rinse under hot water and sling again. Do this a couple times.
Load cartomizers into the jewelry cleaner and add the hot water.
Cycle the jewelry cleaner 4-5 times (3 minutes each).
Drain off the water and refill.
Cycle 2 more times.
Drain water and carefully remove the cartomizers.
Rinse under hot water and sling them again to get as much water out as possible.
Now put them into a food dehydrator and set on high. My dehydrator has a top fan to circulate the air.
Leave for 12 hours.
Refill and vape.
**If you have long cartomizers or jumbo's, drying time will vary.

what flavor is on it

I'm just vaping Menthol flavor from "Smokesation.com" so far. Theirs is very minty and not much tobacco flavor. All the flavors I've tried to refill with have tasted horrible mixed with that. That's why I'm trying to clean them.

I clean out mine in the sink under running hot water, blow them out real well and let them dry out for at least 2 days. It works well for me, but there have been some cartos that are just done and need to be replaced.

Thanks for giving me a time span. 2 days is reasonable. I can't feel the batting in there to feel if it's still wet so I don't know when to add the juice. I've heard about running hot water over them but, well....I'm pretty lazy and boiling them is about as easy as it gets. Just heat the water up to boiling, take it off the heat, toss in as many cartos as you want and leave them in until you can take them out with your bare hand. I just didn't know the drying time. Thanks

I'd just toss the carto if I were you. At 1.50 a piece on average I wouldn't waste the effort. Atomizers on the other hand need to be cleaned regularly.

Even at $1.50 each, I'm going through 8-10 of them a day which is about double what smoking was costing me. I can't keep tossing them when I know they can be re-used.

I don't have a jewelry cleaner, so this method wouldn't work for me but that dehydrator is a great idea! Womanofheart said 2 days and the dehydrator cuts that down by 75%! That's awesome. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for information, everybody! You're making my vaping much easier!

ok.... 8-10 a day..... you MUST be refering to carts and not cartos ( I hope for your sake!!!) your carts.... plastic tips with the filler material?... just take out the filler and rinse the plastic cart out and rirse the filler out separetely.... pat the filler dry and let it chill for a while (few hoursish, overnight) to completely dry... put the filler back in the cart and add liquid.

It's possible. Some of the prefilled cartos that come with kits don't hold much at all. I can't tell from the website what type of battery it is. I'm no battery expert- perhaps someone can have a look and determine the battery type so she can get cheaper cartos someplace else. 5 cartos for $12.00 is way too much.

I can go through 7-8 V4L prefilled's in a day easily. They only put something like .8ml's of juice in them and I generally vape 6-7ml's a day. I can always add extra juice to their carto's and I read it somewhere in their forum that they don't totally fill them completely full because of leakage.

That's cool, I think the OP just goes through lots of cartos. It threw us for a loop because so few vapers go through more than 5-6ml's per day -- not that there's anything wrong with that

So anyway, about cleaning cartos:
