Hello everyone! (A bit of advice needed!)

How's everyone doing, my name's Eric and I have been using E-cigs for about 4 years on and off now. My longest stint before now was about 6 months, before I stupidly caved after some personal trauma and went back to normal cigarettes. However, I recently quit smoking analogues (for the 3rd time) about 2 weeks ago and ordered up a new e-cig starter pack. I went with the Vapor King XLs from Vapor4Life and have been really happy with the quality as well as the vapor production.

My biggest issue/question is this. For the first 10 days of quitting, I toughed it out and went from smoking about a pack a day of analogs to 8mg nicotine carts(the lowest nicotine content I could find). I felt a bit of a withdrawal the first few days, but it leveled out and I was feeling better. Now 2 days ago, those carts have all but dried up and I've switched to 0mg carts, trying to ween myself off of everything BUT the hand-to-mouth habit. I am familiar with nicotine withdrawal somewhat, but does anyone else get hot flashes? This is the first time I've gotten them, along with cold sweats (for no apparent reason) and my stomach has been just churning, as well. I've read on a bunch of sites that this is normal, but did I simply not give myself enough time on the 8mg nicotine carts for my body to level out, or no matter what the nicotine, once dropped, will these withdrawal symptoms occur? I'm a 27 year old male, and these hot flashes are pretty weird man, lemme tell you!

My plan was to drop my nicotine levels way down with the 8mg, and then just have my e-cigs around with 0mg juice for when I'm driving or drinking and feel like smoking something. I've just never experienced these hot flashes in my face as well as an almost lightheaded/whooshing feeling in my ears.. It's totally new to me and kinda creepy feeling.

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read this, I appreciate it and can't wait to get involved with the community here, as well as getting myself healthy!! :D

Yeah - I have zero desire to deal with the withdrawal. I don't know when I'll start looking at lowering nic levels. I'm in no hurry though. Even if I never do, or never zero out - i'ts still orders of magnitude better than where I was with analogs.

That said, I don't mind vaping 'full time', which I will need to do unless I do zero out the nic. I think the OP is planning to use vaping to avoid social smoking, and only do it occasionally.

I have to agree with what most are saying here; power-weaning is probably not such a good idea.

First things first, my friend. Find a nicotine level in your juice that keeps you off the analogs and away from the changing-over-to-vaping and the analog w/d symptoms as much as possible. Be it 24, 18, 12mg, or whatever, it will be easier to wean down the nic from there if you're not battling all of the other issues that come with smoking cessation, both physical and mental.

Find your happy spot with vaping and get further away from the cigs; then, if you choose to drop the nic content, go from there with weaning it down. :)

I've taken about 2 years to get from 24mg to 12mg, haven't really had any withdrawal except when I first started, had 3,999 other chemicals to get over. All your doing by rushing is increasing your chances of going back to analogs, after all you spent a number of years rewiring your brain to think it needs nicotine. It's not going to get over that overnight, take your time and really get over the nic.

thanks for all the replies everyone. i know some will say that all i'm doing is rushing the transition, but i've quit before. the only reason i ever started smoking analogs again was because i had some serious stuff go down in my life and my e-cig at the time died and yeah. my choices were either to smoke a regular cigarette, or lose my mind.

i really have no desire to hang onto my nicotine addiction, as i'm kind of just tired of it to be honest. i get bad headaches without nicotine, and i have a few other health issues i'm working through and i really just don't need one more thing to have to worry about. i love vaping, and i love the hand-to-mouth action, that's where my real love with the smoking habit lies, anyways. i really just want to puff away on my 0mg carts and enjoy the habit and relaxation it brings without the extras like nicotine, which for me, are unnecessary.

i was really just most curious about the hot feelings in my face and the sweating, but even today things seem to be a lot better and i'm drinking a lot of water to help keep hydrated and flush things out. it's tough, but i've went through tougher! i could do things gradually, but like i said, i've done it before, so i know i can do it again! thanks again for all your input and for such a nice welcome! :)

Nicotine is a vaso-constrictor. Perhaps your body's vascular system is, in a sense, rebounding from the lack of nicotine it had become accustomed to leading to a systemic vaso-dilation - flushing, sweating, swooshy sounds in the ear (increased blood flow), light headedness from a (possibly) lower blood pressure which happens when your blood vessels dilate.

Can't be certain, but I am glad that things have started improving for you - a sign your body is adjusting and becoming acclimated to its new environment. Water certainly is helpful in counteracting the decreased workload on your heart caused by vaso-dilation by upping your overall volume. If that is what is happening. :)
