Hello Everyone! I'm New!

Hello everyone! I'm new to these boards. My husband and I have been off-and-on vapers for about a year now. We have finally decided to try switching to vaping, but we are taking it slow. Right now, we are using vaping as a way to curb the cravings of analog cigs, and to cut back our use of them. It's working out well, so far. We were both full pack smokers for many years (myself, 12 years - he smoked a lot longer), and the e-cig has helped us cut down to half a pack. Some days I even find myself smoking less than that!

A little about me: I'm a stay-at-home-mom working as a freelance copywriter/editor. I have two beautiful children; my son is 8, and my daughter is 6. I originally joined these boards because I noticed that my favorite e-juice supplier is on these boards with a sub-forum and I wanted to be able to comment on them.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself, and leave my first post! Vape on!

Hi Dawn,

New to these boards myself, and your story is identical to mine. I started vaping about 6 months ago to ween off the analogs. First product I tried was a commercial brand that just did not satisfy and never got me completely off the analogs. I cut back a bunch on the analogs, but their e-cig product just wasn't completely working for me - not enough vapor, proprietary accessories, etc.

However, after reviewing other e-cig solutions on the internet, I picked up a great eGo battery and Kanger EVOD tank setup (multiples at this point actually) and I couldn't be happier. This setup has kept me 100% completely off analogs for two months solid now & I finally feel free from the need to ever go back. I have two boys 6 and 8 and I couldn't be happier to be doing something that might keep dad around a little longer in their lives, and a little extra money in my pocket to spoil them a bit in the process. ;)

What e-cig setup do yo have if you don't mind me asking? There is a wealth of knowledge of everything vape and vape-related on these boards. Glad you found your way here - and HUGE congrats to you & your husband for taking the first steps towards walking away from the analogs. :2cool:

What nicotine mg level are you using now? You may want to bump it when you quit for the first week or two. Helped me get off the smoking nightmare. I had to use 36 mg the first two weeks, then dropped to 24 mg. I'm at 12 mg now, and will go lower when appropriate. Much easier to reduce nic vaping, than through smoking. Different mechanism of action and so forth. good luck to you and welcome to the Forum!

We started out with the 808s. My husband is still using them, but I recently bought the eGo-T upgrade battery with the SmokTech dual coil cartridge (it was a starter set for like $30 from my favorite site to buy juices: TheVaporRoom) because the 808 just wasn't enough for me - not enough vape, not enough throat hit, etc. I love this new battery and carto, though! Waiting on my order for more cartos as we speak, in fact lol. And, if my husband doesn't tell me soon to get him one of these batteries... I know what his birthday present will be! Haha!

We are experimenting now with the PG/VG ratio for what we like most. For a while, we were using 50/50 (and that's what's in my one lonely carto now), but I recently bought some 75/25s and my husband has tried them, but I haven't in my new ecig yet. I did try it in the 808, and, again, felt like smoking air. So, I'm holding out till I get my empty cartos for my ego to try out the rest of the 75/25 flavors that I bought. We'll see how it goes. We're looking for a stronger throat hit. While, this new battery definitely has a stronger throat hit, I thought I read somewhere that the pg/vg ratio can also affect the throat hit as well. Anyone else have any tips on this?

Oh, and thank you all for the warm welcome and congrats! I can proudly say, today, I've only had 2 analog smokes since 8am this morning! (And, it's already 12:42pm here! I live in Central PA haha)

I'm using 30mg. It's the strongest they offer from my favorite vaping place. I've tried other places (most of which the strongest offered was 24mg, which definitely wasn't enough! And, we didn't like the taste of most of their flavors). I'm in the process of looking for a vendor with 36mg juices with good flavor. I'm just in a crunch on money right now to attempt wasting money on something I may not like at all, ya know?

Hi, I also am newbie been vaping with hubby for 2 and half months now, we both have not smoked any tobacco since first received Eroll, but it wasn't long before we got a mega egoc kit, then the ego twist. We started with 24mg then18, still with18mg along with 11mg in some flavors. Now I am looking at a provari. I want the safest mod I can get, read the full posting with photos on batt incident (in new member posting) and it was sobering. Knew batts were tools that must be treated with respect to the potential dangers but really got eyeful of it in post. Appreciate all the info and humor found here has been awesome resource heck the companies making this stuff should be paying this forum for selling a lot of it by the careful reviewing of it all. I have couple of questions concerning the provari would this thread be one to use or could someone direct me to one that would be more appropriate.thanks

Hopefully this page can give you some clarification and tips on PG vs VG: PG and VG: Throat Hit, Vapor, and Consistency

Thanks stingray! That link has helped a lot!!

Since I got my new battery (the eGo-T upgrade) with mega dual coil cartos, it has helped me to drop down to now 2 analog cigs per day. Today, though, I've only had ONE! I'm still going at snails pace on quitting the analogs, but this kind of improvement, with limited withdraw symptoms is something I'm quite proud of! My kids are super happy about it too haha! They are my little cheerleaders!

I just bought my hubby one of these battery kits, also. Waiting for it in the mail, so hopefully it will help him slow down even further as well. I'm just stoked I've made a pack of cigs last over a week now!! HAHA!
