Hey guys. I've been a smoker (pack a day) for about 20 years now and I'm currently trying to switch to vaping. I got myself an innokin Cool Fire IV and a Kanger Subtank Mini. I found VapeWild.com and I'm trying a range of their liquids in a 50/50 mix with 18mg of nic. I'm having a hard time with too much TH. I tried one of the "extra" samples they sent thats 65VG and 3mg and the TH is a bit better but still kinda harsh. I'm guessing from the research I've done that my issue may be with the PG and I need an even higher VG%. Does this sound right to anyone?

Try a slightly higher VG mix like 60pg/40vg. Some flavors are harsh on the throat too.

Also, if you just quit smoking your throat may be losing that anesthetic concoction that's in regular cigarettes. Believe it or not, traditional cigarettes have additives that numb your throat and lungs so you can take deeper lung hits with no ill effects. Your body could be adjusting to that.

I started with 18mg, 50/50. What I experienced was that I got very harsh hits when I took my first vape of the day. After a few hits, (very little, mild hits, lol) the harshness went away and I was able to vape it just fine. Even if I set it down for a good while it would be harsh when I picked it back up.

You will get a smoother vape regardless of nic with a higher vg content, less nic even smoother. But, at 3 mg it shouldn't be the nic doing it. You could try higher vg I guess and see if that helps.

I just know that no matter what I had in the tank in the beginning of my vaping it was harsh for the first few hits. I just had to vape through it and it went away four or five hits later. It's not a problem for me now about 5 months later.

Personally I don't like anything that says "subtank" or "subohm". I use the Aspire Nautilus Mini with 1.6 or 1.8 ohm coils with 12 mg. nicotine and vape it at 13-14 watts. I think that's the route you should take especially being a new vaper. I'm working on almost 2 years smoke free and still enjoy the Nautilus. No subohm for me.
