Hi!

My forum name is Borescoped... I used to smoke...

I started vaping on 6 April 2013, and quit analogs on the same day. I've been much happier since! I started off with a 510 style PCC, upgraded to the same company's eGo style kit... and now about to order up some fresh upgraded gear on payday (wife's giving me $150 to spend!)

I'm active duty military, stationed in the UK. I started smoking about 14/15 years ago, after I got to my first duty station (yup.... dumb, I know). Tried quitting a few different times (cold turkey, prescription medications)... nope, not for this guy.

Anyways, I've also been a lurker for a while now, trying to soak in as much information as possible along the way, and hopefully I'll be able to help others also (like the guys at work I've been converting) once I learn more.

Thanks!

Good budget. You can get something nice, even two nice somethings. Ok, from your post, it appears you have had the ego stick batteries and you want to get an APV....advanced personal vaporizer? Maybe some better delivery systems? Your ego style, were they variable voltage? And, what brand? We can go from there, and bunches will be along to help you.

Yeah... stick batts (one 650mah and a 900mah.... not getting the job done for me), 2 evods w/ 510/ego adapters (one's silicon gaskets died from some orange ejuice, they swelled up horribly!), selection of juices from various vendors. I've been doing ALOT of reading, research and youtube video watching!

Heh... already have my sights on a VAMO, pair of Panasonic batteries, Nitecore I2, RSST, extra clearo's, a torch, some more ejuice from another vendor, 5m spool of kanthal A1, 1m Ekowool and 1m of 7x7 SS rope. Probably going to throw in some SS mesh also.

EDIT: a SS VAMO... I believe in durability and not throwing cash down the drain!
EDIT#2: the stick batts... they were plain pass thru's w/out eGo cone threading from Volcano.. very annoying! (great place for me to start my vaping journey, but not where I want to be now).

Welcome to the site. I have a vamo and love it. Check out fasttech.com for it if you haven't already.

Yup, that was the one i was looking at... hey! they dropped the price from earlier today/yesterday by a few bucks!
Either that one, or I'll put my own together for about $10 more, get the same charger and add in the NCR18650PD's for around $14. Shipping batteries thru my USPS box on base is problematic, so I want to get the best I can while avoiding USPS/military mail. That's the main reason I went with Volcano to start with, I could order from their UK site and have it shipped to my door.

the vamo and rsst combo would be a fabulous place to start getting into more "advanced" vaping. you will get a good sense as to what variable wattage will do to different flavors and what temperature best suits you. the rsst is a good rba to begin rebuilding with. if you have some patience, it will pay off greatly and you will start to see what it is specifically about other devices that have or are missing something that suit your style. that way you won't just go out and buy the most expensive stuff without thinking about if it is really right for what you like in a good vape.
i'd jump into what you're looking at and stick with it until you really know if you like it. by that time you will know what to trade for should you decide that the setup is not right for you.
i feel that the learning curve for setting up any rba is steep but fairly short distance. don't forget to meter your attys and good luck :)

Thanks for the reply! I'm definitely looking to step up into bigger/better things... I've never been one to want to settle for second best. I'm finding that I am liking the citrusy types of ejuices (still trying to find a good one). Hope that the polypro tank on the RSST can stand up to Ecto Cooler and Solar Flare from MBV, as they will be in the next batch of juices that I'll be ordering. From what I've read, many folks straddle the issue on that, but that a good polypro tank can/will hold up to those two juices (comments on pbusardo's review of the RSST, Ecto was specifically listed as something that won't crack that tank).

Any one had experience specifically with Ecto and Solar in a RSST? I am picking the RSST because the ease of build/use... but if it's gonna break on me (w/out a spare tank on hand), I'll pick up an AGI, or maybe even the Richman RBA.
