Hi from Texas. I just ran across this forum after reading an article about an e-cigaratte from Smoking Everywhere on our local news site. I was very intrigued. I quit smoking for the 3rd time in May and just went back full blown smoking after a trip to Vegas. I hate the health effects of smoking but enjoying smoking and do seem to crave the nicotine. I was going to go cold turkey again Saturday and I'm dreading it. I'm excited to learn more about e-cigs and give them a try. My boyfriend and brother both smoke and trying to be an ex-smoker around them is horrible. I feel like I'm missing out even though I do feel much better and comfortable once clean. I still miss the inhale/exhale and going out for smoke breaks.

I'm looking for recommendations on an e-cig I can buy in the US. I'm smoking almost a pack a day of Merit Lights menthol. I was considering buying the Smoking Everywhere e-cig but I'm starting to see there may be cheaper/better options out there.

Would love to meet others and exchange info and learn more about this. I'm hoping my boyfriend will join in. When I'm not smoking I can't stand the smell of his cigs.

Hi Racer,

Im also from Texas and new to the e-cig deal but I will tell you this, continue to check and frequent these forums, I have learned so much and already own a penstlye e-cig and ordered 2 more today. I have been smoking for about 15 years at about a pack a day and have found it to be the only way to coming close to quitting. Ive had about 5 cigs in almost 2 weeks! It is effective but you have to realize that it is NOT cig smoking and will vary but the oral fixation is there and it does knock out the cravings, at least for me and most on this forum. The overall winner as far as a model to try would be the DSE901 mini, which is a bit bigger than a real cig as far as size goes, the penstyle is much bigger . . . about the size of a black and mild cigar or a "pen" hence the name but the batteries last longer and the cartridge is bigger so you dont go through as many cartridges. I would also recommend picking up some e-liquid to refill your carts as this is more effective and cost effective as well, also grab an extra atomizer as these do go out and if you dont have a spare you end up going back too analog cigs (as we call them) I believe there is a great starter kit at several sites including e-smokeytreats.com and puresmoker.com just to name a few. Good luck

Welcome to the forum, you certainly came to the right place.. There are a number of quality suppliers who frequent this board and anyone of us would be glad to answer your questions. I would recommend heading over the the reviews section and taking a look around.. That will give you a good idea of what to expect.
