Hi guys! Been viewing the forum for a while now, so decided to join up and introduce myself. Alison here! Been vaping since last September and now haven't touched an analogue since mid-November. Kinda finding my way with it all! Started with a cheapo starter kit and have since upgraded to a mini nautilus/cf vv battery - with variable degrees of success. Had a few issues with coils, finding the right juice, leaking etc etc. Usual stuff, I guess. But I'm really getting into this (EDIT) lol ☺

Anyway, I recently bought an eleaf istick 30w (which I love) and I am currently waiting delivery of a Kanger Subtank Nano. I'm hoping this is gonna be a great setup to further my vaping experience. Anyway, I have a few questions, just don't know where to start! So just wanted to introduce myself and say 'Hi'

I guess at the moment I'm just looking for some useful pointers and tips!

I'm really looking forward to getting my subtank nano, heard great things about it. I'm looking to start out using the 1.2 coils, as I have never 'sub-ohmed' before, but would like to use the 0.5's. I guess I am a bit wary, as it feels a bit dangerous lol I'm a noob and all the subohm kit comes with big warnings written in bold letters and advises use for 'experienced vapers only' Just looking for any advice and reassurances! Anyone else have this setup? Any tips, advice etc etc? I'm sure I'll find my way. Glad I've signed up, this looks like a great place to hang

Nothing special I can think of, although you definitely need to practice the 6 o'clock in the morning fill-up technique, getting the juice as close to full as possible.
I have recently got to using the new Vertical coils. Less spitty (good) but seriously power-hungry those critters.
.. oh and priming them really well....

There's not that much difference between the 1.2ohm and 0.5ohm, although as I said it's early days for me with the new coils.

"Experienced vapers only" is a bit scary, I agree. Reading "0.15 ohms" on a coil is even worse.

Congrats on your new vaping experience Alison. The Subtanks are solid...very popular, easy to use, and they just work great. If you ever get into rebuilding coils, the Subtank Mini is a good start. Enjoy.

I ordered a pack of the 2.1 vertical coils and will start with those. They need a lot of priming, huh? How many drops do you stick in the coil? Primer puffs etc?

The 1.2Ω coils are great for M2L (mouth-2-lung) inhaling. The 0.5Ω coils (for me) for direct lung inhaling. The 0.5Ω coil will produce a warmer vape if run at higher wattage.

SInce you are using it on an internal battery regulated mod (with protection built in) there is little risk of your having problems.

Anyone else have this setup? Any tips, advice etc etc?

I have the nano's big brother/sister, the Subtank Mini. A little large juice capacity, a little bigger in circumference and comes w/a RBA (rebuildable base) so I can wrap my own coils.

Priming

All cotton coils have to be "primed" well with juice when you first install a new coil. If they are not primed well the cotton will burn. Unfortunately, once the cotton is burned the burned taste doesn't go away.

To prime the coil, drop 5-8 drops (sometimes less/more depending on the size of the coil head) of juice right inside the coil, another drop of juice in all the holes on the side of the coil. Put the coil in the base, fill the tank and screw the base back onto the tank. Once you put the tank on the battery give it several unpowered primer puffs. This will make sure the wick is fully saturated.

Turn you voltage/wattage down, tank a few hits, bump it up, couple more hits. Repeat until you find your "sweet spot". If your vape starts to taste burnt, dial it back down.

Well I never. "UKecigstore" and "sale" are not two words I would put together.
The most hated store in the UK for anyone who was vaping a few years ago.

They've even got the coils on special price. Well I never. Flying pigs...

Hi and welcome. You may find you like the .5 ohm coils, or perhaps not. They're not really for mouth to lung vaping.

Yes, you should take maximum advantage. I would do the same, except I draw the line on that one.
If you keep using them (in the future), just be sure to price match everything.

Fair play. I wonder if all this generosity is going somewhere? I think the new laws on tanks (anything over 2ml banned) might have been given a stay of execution until 2017.
