Hello all,

I went from a pen style to a Target 75 VTC about a month ago and so far am quite pleased. The setup came with 2 ceramic coils - 1 regular and 1 temp control. I was using the regular one for the first month until it turned black and started to taste burnt.

I went to the vape store and asked them if they sold the ceramic coil as I was a bit apprehensive about using the temp controlled one. They sadly did not but the Atlantis .2 could fit my tank so I went with it instead.

Well it spits a lot compared to the cCell coils (ceramic) and after just 3 days it's starting to taste burnt. When I washed the tank and just put the coil in the water and let it dry it may have still had water in it and steamed off for the first few pulls. Then burnt tasting after - so apparently that was a stupid idea.

So then I thought I didn't love the reg coils to buy another I'd try the temp control. Popped it in and let it sit about a half hour after a couple dry pulls. Tried it - cannot seem to figure out what temp it should be on.

And there isn't really any flavour, I'm getting vapour but it's like water tasting - no harshness or spitting but no flavour either. I've tried varying the temp but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I thought maybe my taste buds were gone but I can still taste off the pen style I have but admittedly I only use for menthol now and it's fairly strong.

So is there something else I need to do for a temp control - tried everything from 250 to 500 and the only difference was the amount of vapour and a burnt like taste at 500 which I assume is too high.

Btw - the eliquid is a 80/20 VG/PG

How long did you use the TC coil? My first experience with the cCell was that it did take some break in time before I started getting much flavor. I did get plenty of vapor from the start but went through probably a tank full of liquid before I got good, strong flavor.

BTW- I have had great luck cleaning the regular (non TC/Kanthal) cCells by dry burning them once they get gunked up. Not sure if you already tossed that one or not though.

I have not tried the TC cCells yet but, I know others that say that they are not as good as the kanthal (non TC)

Hope that I managed to be some help to you.

BTW- Welcome to ECF!

Sorry but I'm not sure what you mean by dry burning? I assume that means with the tank empty without liquid? I haven't tossed it yet as I wanted to make sure I got the same ones when I get to a store in a larger city.

I literally just put it in tonight with the TC one so only gone through about a half tank of liquid. I will say after letting it sit longer I am getting a tiny bit of lemon (it's a lemon pound cake flavour) but it's still extremely subtle. I will keep vaping and see if that helps bring out more flavour - thanks for the info!
