Hey all! Recently a friend bought me a disposable vapour cig from a convenience store and it's gotten me all interesting in trying it out now. I smoke socially (as in only when I go out, so 5-8 per week more or less) I started out thinking I wanted a cig like pv, but after reading posts here and watching videos on youtube I think I decided on an ego of some sort and maybe a smaller cigarette sized one for when I go to bars/concerts, any tips or recommendations for a simple newbie? Something that can fit in my pocket would be nice :p

Lol! You have just asked a very loaded question. I can't wait to see all of the responses you're going to get and how fast your head begins to spin.

Me? I started with this: Joye eGo kit in matte black (But if you like it, shop around. Prices vary and there are lots of coupons and sales.) I also bought a LR306 atty and drip tip, which turned out to be too advanced for me at the time.

Then I added a 1000mAh (for a longer battery life)
Then a couple of Stardust clearomizers (to hold more juice)
Then a vivi mini nova (because the Stardusts are fussy little critters and leak sometimes)
Then a 1000mAh eGo Twist (because all the cool kids have them) Honestly, for me, the Twist is overkill. I fiddled around with the dial without looking at it and discovered I don't like high voltage.
Then a glass tank/carto thingy (because I like cinnamon vapes and they can be a problem with some tanks)
I'm currently a happy camper with enough toys to experiment with for quite some time. This is just me. Everyone's mileage varies.

I think I'm going to hold off on a tank for now because I don't know how much juice I'd use, also I think they're ugly lol

I know I'm going to end up getting one eventually though >_> I always want MORE

Welcome. Glad to have you. Lots of folks from up there on here. Getting up to Yellow Knife is on my bucket list. My dad got to go there. All he could talk about for a long time. An Ego twist 650mah is pretty small. I use a twist 1000mah but its a bit longer.
For an atomizer I would go with a clearmorizer one of the later ones that is rebuildable. But the Ego C type B I use still for testing new flavors.
The Ego c is a pain to fill. The clearo is less fuss. Now I use a ViVi nova on top of a provai but you don't need to spend that kind of money.
LOL your LOL not a smoker like I was. I use to smoke 2-4 big cigars a day Of and on mostly on and I inhaled the damn things. I know dumb. LOL
Glad to have you aboard.
One thing at your level of smoking you should stay below 16mg of nic at least if not lower.

I just got my tank put together today. I probably wouldn't have gotten one, for at least awhile, but cinnamon is one of the few things I can taste after 40 years of smoking and it tends to melt/crack certain tanks or parts of them. I thought they were ugly too, but I found a slimmer one from IBTanked that doesn't look too stupid on my eGo. You really don't need to get a tank in the beginning.

I still frequently use the carts that came with my original eGo kit. They don't hold much juice, so I use them to taste new flavors when I don't feel like dripping. When they're done, you can re-stuff them or just throw them away.

Hi Duckonquack and welcome to ECF! I suggest you have a look at the Redds PV. Happy Vapor in Toronto sells them (others must also, but don't know who). You can try one out without having to buy into the system to see if you like it. I have not tried one yet, but from the reviews I've read they are great performing small PV's and from what you said in your post, I doubt you need anything more. YMMV though, this is just my opinion.

Happy thanksgiving!

Ahh thanks for that, the redds look like my style, I'll probably pick up a pack after the ego for when I go out to concerts and such

You say their from Toronto? Do you happen to know if they have a store in town somewhere?

With all the choices that are available in today's market, it can become overwhelming very quickly! For a total newbie, I would suggest an Ego-type battery (highly recommend the Ego Twist battery~variable voltage, but I haven't seen it available in a 'kit') paired with an Ego Vision (2ohm) cartomizer (which is a smaller tank like cartomizer but it seam-lined to the Ego so it's still asthetically pleasing! eGo Vision Stardust & Extreme Vision Custom Kit 1100mAh Black or Silver. Getting a battery that is slightly larger than the standard 510 will save you the hassle of becoming frustrated with vapor production early on.
