Hello there. Another ignorant NuB here!

Still on the analogues at the moment, but came across e-cigs and decided I might like to give it a try (for health reasons, but mainly for financial reasons).

I was ready to go ahead and buy an e-cig I had seen on ebay about a week ago, but I decided to do a bit more research before I did.... which is how I found this site and have been ‘lurking’ about and reading since then.

Great forum and LOTS of information. However, my head is somewhat spinning at the moment, since the more I read, the more questions I seem to have!

Clearly, the first thing I need to decide is WHICH E-CIG?????!!!!!

Obviously, I want to purchase a kit that gives a good vaping experience with a decent vapour and hit, but I also want something that feels right for me, and which I find aesthetically pleasing. For me, these criteria would be fulfilled as follows:-

Size: The main concern for me is the diameter of the e-cig. I don’t mind the length + or – a few centimetres, but I don’t want something that feels too big in my mouth (I would also definitely prefer a round end, rather than an oblong one like on a cigarette holder). However, most of the sites I have looked at only give the length of the e-cig, not the diameter. I wouldn’t want anything that was larger than an analogue. I had assumed that the longer the cigarette, the wider it is, but after watching the “
New, Updated, Comprehensive Intro to vaping!” video (Thank you, Spikey!), it looks like my original assumptions were wrong!

Colour: I would love an e-cig with different colour options available so that I could mix and match the body and mouthpiece (eg all-black, all white, white body/black mouthpiece, metal body/black mouthpiece, etc..... you get the idea). I definitely do not want one where the only option is a ‘cigarette’ appearance.

Power: I have also been reading on these forums about the USB passthrough, and I must say that, from what I have read about the batteries, having one of these would probably be very high on my list. I also have seen brief mention of a mobile battery pack that you can plug the passthrough cable into, but I’m not sure if I am right on this. However, I have been trying to find these items on UK sites without success, so I do not know which models of e-cig these are available for.

All of the above boils down to the following question:
1. Can anyone advise me if there is a model of e-cig available in the UK which:
a) performs well
b) has a round mouthpiece with a diameter equal to or smaller than an analogue cigarette
c) has a compatible USB passthrough and battery pack available

I have plenty of other questions, but I think I’ll leave this post for now.... before I write ‘War and Peace’ LOL

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Angela and welcome to the forums. I am very new to this myself but after much research I decided on the EVO from intellicig.com

This particular ecig performs very very well for me with a great throat hit and excellent battery life. The battery lasted me a whole day (15-20 cigs). It is available in both normal cig colour and black. There are two battery sizes available as well!

To answer your points:

a) From my point of view it performs very well. The throat hit is great (im using Regular High Carts) and battery life seems very good.
b)It has a round mouthpiece about the same as a regular ciggie
c)im not sure about this but im sure if it is available it will be mentioned in these forums somewhere. I just bought an extra battery or two.

Anyway, hope this helps.

Thanks for the link.

It looks like that seller sells the passthrough's as well (the only UK seller I've found who does), but only for the other types of e-cig they sell - not the Pilot!

Therefore, I'm guessing that the Pilot doesn't have a compatible passthrough for it.

I know I'm being fussy about my initial purchase, because finances are tight at the moment and I won't be able to afford to get different kits if I make a wrong initial purchase. I'll just end up putting it down as a bad idea and give up!

Angela, give miragecigarettes.co.uk a look. It's certainly not got anywhere near all your specs, but for a trouble free introduction into e-smoking you could do a lot worse. I bought my initial one from e-bay - and that was a mistake. Wish I'd gone to Mirage first. They also have really quick delivery. I'm using it now :D

I believe that he intends adding more products in the near future.

I have been quite peased with the penstyle.. It comes in 3 different colors white black and silver.. It has a passthrough available. Its not too big for a woman and the battery lasts 6 to 8 hrs easily. Has a decent size cart, averages around 100 puffs or so and the classic is compatable with the DSE801. It has a cigarello mouthpiece instead of a round one like a reg analog. Now I thought I wouldnt like it because of that but its proven me way wrong as I couldnt see myself owning a different one. I ordered mine from puresmoker.com and while they are here in the US they may have an idea or sister supplier elsewhere in the world. Or if you found a supplier you can see if they offer the classic penstyle RN4072 or the DSE801..

Good luck on whatever you decide.

I'd say to get this one first off: Intellicig for the following reasons:

1) Small diameter (and reasonable length), not thinner than a real cigarette but about the same or marginally more.
2) Rounded mouthpiece (which is not as smooth as some other plastics; nicely textured)
3) Does not have a USB passthrough but can be charged super fast (~15 minutes) - see this link for info about a battery pack: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-reviews/9182-review-usb-battery-pack-uk.html
4) Is very cigarette-like to smoke IMHO. The 901 (AKA mini) is very popular but it has a ligher draw than the EVO, the EVO is harder to draw on I think, more like a real cigarette.
5) The cheapest starter pack you can get - £22 (but only one battery and atomiser). But if you don't like the experience, no great loss.
6) You can buy black atomisers/batteries/cartridges and reuse the charger that comes with the starter pack if you do like it - no need to buy the very expensive limited edition black as a starter pack
EDIT - 7) Excellent battery life
EDIT - 8) Very consistent and reliable in my experience

You can buy liquids for topping up here: Electric Cigarette & E Liquid - Totally Wicked Electronic Cigarette Fluid (or Electronic Cigarette | Free Yourself... | e-cigs Welcome but they're not seeling liquids with nicotine right now)

Hope this helps!

Hi, I'm new to the forum too (in fact this is my first post!), but I thought i'd mention that if money is tight, Lovesmoke.com offer a trial kit for the intellicig for £14.94. I've spent a reasonable amount of time reading through the forum, and looked at a few sites, and I think i've decided to start with an Intellicig and see how I go with it.

Are those genuine Evos SyH? I've not heard of that company before.

I've not heard of them either but it appears that they're selling the disposable e-cig (Intellicig) somewhat marked up.

(EDIT - and with the wrong picture showing the e-cig components - the picture appears to be that of a supermini not an EVO.)

couldn't tell you Kate, as I haven't ordered yet. I'm still trying to decide where to get one from.

I found the company while trying to find somewhere local to me that I could pick one up from (i'm impatient and didn't want to wait for one to arrive in the post!). They're not far from me, but don't offer collection. :(

Well the last thing I want to do is feel ripped off, so i'm glad I mentioned that before going ahead and ordering, rather than after.

Thanks for all the help and recommendations guys! Been off reading up about the ones you've recommended and at the moment am leaning towards the EVO. It seems to be the size I am looking for and the batteries seem to be one of the best out there. OK, so there isn't a passthrough available for it (which I originally said I would like) but I think that, combined with the decent battery life, Kitabz's suggestion of the battery pack should deal with my battery concerns (thanks for the links btw). Haven't ordered yet, but definitely leaning that way at the moment.

Oh, and I L-O-V-E the modification that someone has posted up (sorry - new here and can't remember his name at the moment.... the UK-based plasterer EVO king!) stripping off the paintwork and making a metal mouthpiece. Regarding this, am I right in thinking that you can re-use this mouthpiece over and over again - ie it would last indefinitely?

Also, regarding modding, has anyone painted their mouthpiece? It there anything safe to use for this?

Well, after extensive research through these forums (which have been a Godsend - THANK YOU!), orders have been placed for everything we need / want, and now it's just a case of waiting for everything to arrive so that my partner and I can make the switch!

We've ordered:
EVO kit plus spares
TW unflavoured 24mg juice (they were out of 36mg)
5 bottles of LorAnn flavours (Chocolate Hazelnut, Cinnamon Roll, Cranberry, English Toffee, and Pralines and Cream)
PG
VG
Distilled water
7ml & 10ml glass dropper bottles and
Syringes

Oh - and some Menthol Crystals!

After that little investment, I hope we get on OK with vaping now!!!

Anyway, I don't think we've forgotten anything - apart from a battery pack and some sort of cases, which we can sort out later.

Now comes the hard part...... waiting for it all to arrive!!!!

Anyway, thanks again to this forum. I'll let you know how we get on.
