Hey, nice little forum you got here. Just wanted to say this forum is a big help to me, as a e-smoking noob I needed all kinds of direction to try and find the right beginners ecig. I just completed my order from Steve over at Pure Smoker, picked up a nice little black 901 setup with the blue LED, 3 extra atomizers, Vanilla 18Mg juice, blank carts, and a few packs of regular carts to try out. Looking forward to trying the healtier approach to smoking. I'll post a little review once my order comes in. Big up to Steve for the coupon code! Seems he's running a pretty good shop over there.

Few questions/concerns about e-Smoking that maybe you pros can help me out with...

One of my main concerns is how many times can you top off a cart with juice before you have to throw it away? They are a buck each, or 70c for the blanks... I know you can juice them and make them last longer but how long can you do that? Does it get to where you can't top it off anymore? When you think all the factory juice in the cartridge is "done" how many drops do you add to it to freshen it up without being wasteful? I dont' mind buying new carts but I'd like to know how long I can stretch them by topping off with liquid.

How risky is "dripping"? Seems like a pretty decent alternative to use just a drop or two right away when you wanna take a few hits, and not worry about cartridges. I could imagine it's much stronger of a hit that way, as seen in the puresmoker video. I don't plan on dripping until I use it for a while. I'll have 3 extra atomizers, but I'd rather not prematurely kill them by using it the wrong way.

Welcome to the forum Bastage.

If your topping-off a cartridge, just add drops till you can see the moisture in the end of the cartridge. If you get a little bubble of juice on the end of the cartridge, use a paper towel or tissue to dab it off. As far as usage, I have used a single cartridge for several days (and I have read others have used one longer) but I would replace it if it starts to get dark/discolored on the end as this is ... toasted juice, which is thicker and degrades the ability of the cartridge to pass the juice. Also, you can wash the cart material (in plain tap water) and re-fill it.

I personally drip most of the time. I have ALMOST gotten it to an art and can consistently keep the atomizer functioning well without flooding it or using it dry. I would recommend you stick with the carts till you get the hang of the e-cig. You will learn the "personality" of the atomizer, and then it becomes easier to drip consistently. (Did I use the word consistently enough yet?) :) Also, it is much better to flood the atomizer than let it dry out (though the battery doesn't like it). You will find the taste will change just slightly when the atomizer is starting to dry out, then just drip again. Also, I'm still using 2 pen-style atomizers I got about 2 months ago, so it does work, you just need to be careful.

I find dripping to be much more....(damn) consistent than using cartridges, so I only use carts in a pinch. When I use a cart, I always need to keep it so I can later drain the juice that's left in it, and that is just a pain. I keep my juice in one of those micro-bottles which fits conveniently in my pocket, and I don't have to worry about where to store new/spent carts.

Oops, had a Dangerously flashback :D

Sounds like you learned more then some have from reading the forums. Looks like you bought a good and full set up to start. :D

I have been able to refill my carts about 20 times? about. its just depends on your useage.
Just watch the stuffing. If it gets dark/black, if it gets frayed with a lot of loose hairs, if it gets squished in the cart and has a hard time reaching the wool in the atomizer.
You can fluff it up a little if it needs it on the end, with a pin, or tweezers.

Some have been testing replacement stuffing materials, but I dont think anyone has come up with the perfect replacement yet.

Just keep an eye on things as you use it and you will know. My guess, when you need to clean the atomizer, you will need to eather replace or clean the cart.
One is lasting me about 4 days untill it needs attention, eather cleaning, or repacking, or replacing. Re filling, is a few times a day here :p
Again, it all depends on your useage.
