I just smoked my last Newport a few hours ago and and began using my Innokin iTaste 134 Mini with the Aspire nautilus tank Clearomizer! I'm loving it so far! After doing hours and hours of research, I did hours and hours of further research, and decided mods were the right place for me to start. No issues jumping in so far but glad to see an active community to turn to when I inevitably do. That's all for now because I don't want to lose my mysteriousness!
Regards,
Mark

Good choice in hardware. Now, when the craving hits for a cigarette, hit that mod harder and drive the craving away! Be aware that the nic hit isn't like it was with a cigarette. You vape a little heavier and wait a few minutes. Instead of being delivered through the lungs, the nic from and ecig is absorbed through the mucous membranes. It takes a few minutes to peak, so don't over-nic yourself!

With a cig, it was take a few hits and feel the nic. With the ecig, it's take a few hits and wait a couple of minutes for the effect. The objective is to find a vaping frequency that keeps your nic level where you want it.

Welcome to ECF and congrats on the switch. Now the fun begins....time to start looking for your favorite flavors and finding a few ADV's.

I must say ECF is a great community and no matter what you need help with there will be someone to come along that is willing to help. So if/when you run into problems don't hesitate asking for help here. Same thing applies for gear selection and the likes. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here and 99% are always willing to take a few minutes to help.

Thanks again for all the welcomes. I thought I'd give a quick update. Friday night, after vaping for a few hours and without paying attention, lit 1 of 3 remaining Newport cigarettes. I smoked the other 2 Saturday morning! Why didn't I just throw them away? I don't have any more and won't be buying any more.
I've been fine without them since that time and really seem to enjoy vaping. Although, I am still a little self-conscious about it.
Today, Sunday, I am now beginning to cough quit a bit. I figure it is the usual situation of lungs trying to evict the damage I've been doing to them with cigarettes. I'm actually wondering if vaping will help with that similar to the benefits of using a humidifier. Anyway, that's my trip through the first weekend. We shall see what tomorrow brings when I go to work and have to vape on the smoke deck.

Congratulations for getting off to a great start!

The PG and VG in e-liquid both have hygroscopic properties that take moisture from your body and the air so they basically work the opposite of using a humidifier. This means that vapers need to increase their water intake, sometimes substantially, to prevent issues related to dehydration. This could also be a possible cause of your sore throat.
