Hi All
Yeah I'm relatively new to vaping but I'm totally loving it as both an alternative to smoking and as a hobby. I smoked for 45 years and never had a desire to quit. I just really enjoyed my occasional cigars and pipes and my usual 10 - 13 cigs a day. Actually the only thing I hated about smoking was the cost at $75 - 80 a carton.

It was about 2 months ago in my local pub where I saw a woman puffing on what I have since learned was an Iclear30 on one of those cheap X6 1300mah batteries. I thought yeah - I want one of those! I later did some research and discovered other tanks and batteries I prefer. As soon as I received my first set of vape gear I haven't had a .... since, which has been 7 weeks now.
Within a week of quitting the analogues I noticed my sinuses getting clearer and the usual morning cough-ups of phlegm were getting less each day, and now its pretty much stopped. After that first week, suddenly one day I could actually feel my lungs in my chest. It was a strange feeling but a good one too. I could sort of feel the increased intake of oxygen with each breath.

I'm sure as with many of you folks, I don't really feel like I've quit that very enjoyable habit of 'smoking', mainly because with vaping I still have that ritual of drawing in smoky-like vapor with that familiar throat hit and satisfying exhale. Plus the gear itself is much more fun and clean than the cigs which just burn away into ash and garbage.

My gear as of now is a Mig21 kit for its stealth and portable carry, a couple of Evod VV batts and a pair of Nautilus Minis for when I want a more satisfying vape, and a Sigelei Legend mod for sitting at my desk or listing to music while enjoying my other hobby - high-end home audio.

I have since discovered so many other little perks to vaping that I hadn't considered when I started.
Aside from the obvious benefit of vaping indoors especially during bad weather:
No more ashtrays to clean every day (yeah I smoked down in my basement music-room).
No smelling of smoke and the associated bad breath.
No ash dust accumulating everywhere in my car.
When I vape in my car I can leave the windows up when its raining. When I used to drive in the rain I couldn't smoke because rain would pour in through even a tiny opening of the window.
No more worrying about wayward hot cherries burning holes in my clothes or carpets. (now I only have to worry about blowing my head off with a badly arranged mech mod :D)

I know there's more perks but I can't think of them at the moment.
There is one thing I do still miss about smoking. Over the years I've collected many lighters, and there was always that peak moment of pleasure during when first taking a puff after lighting up with a finely crafted lighter.

All in all though, vaping beats analogues hands down. No regrets!

Sorry for the long post folks; I just wanted to share my personal experience with this life-changing transition.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to further discussions with other members of this fine community.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the very warm welcome. Also great to see all you fellow Canucks.

Only downside so far is I've spent more on gear than I would have on cigs. My first 2 months and I've already spent over $400 on gear and juice, and that doesn't even include my Sigelei Legend which was a gift!
However I'm sure that easily happens during the initial period so I'm expecting (hoping) the cost will settle down once I establish a system that serves all my needs. (famous last words)
