Hi, I've been a lurker for a while and thought I should give a little shout out to you all. My wife and I have been off regular cigarettes for 7 months. It was helpful to start together. Right now we are vaping off of Ego-C Twists and AGR tanks. We'll probably move in to more high end mods at some point soon.

I was thinking about the financial costs of smoking vs. vaping. If we compare buying vaping supplies to buying cigarettes, for us it is noticeably cheaper to vape then to smoke. Then, I started thinking of other costs that occur from smoking:

• Listerine Strips - These are quite expensive if you use them all the time.
• Dish Soap - The only thing I could find to wash the smell out of my hands.
• Lotion - Because Dish Soap is harsh on my hands.
• Febreeze - To spray down a jacket or shirt that I hadn't had a chance to put through the laundry yet.

Basically, items that help hide our smoking habit.

I know that these are all items used whether being a smoker or a non-smoker. It's just that the amount used has drastically dropped. Especially, with the listerine strips. Even more money saved.

Anyways, enough of that.

These forums are fun to read. I'll be lurking and posting here and there.

If you have been off 7 month of analog and vaping then you have already saved up enough for a high end mod. Once you get your high end mod vaping experience would be much more enjoyable. The cost of 1 of my mod is = to 4 weeks of smoking (1-1.5 pad). So in a sense you have already saved up enough for 7 mods. But I never tried to hide my smoking so you probably save up enough for 9-10. Hopefully you and your wife will pick up a nice VV/VW or Mechanical mod soon.

Welcome...It seems like vaping can be cheaper if you manage it correctly...I haven't been able to accomplish that yet, but plan to start budgeting soon.

BTW, I'm clueless...What or where is SLC?

I had to take down all the drapes and wash them. Used my Bissell and deep cleaned all the furniture. Don't have carpet,so that was an easy clean. Bought a Aliveair, air purifier. The teeth really became a priority,so a spin brush and teeth betweens. There is the Gym membership,first day I could not swim 1 lap without being winded,now up to 16. You are right this healthy/clean habit can get expensive,but it is so worth it and the attitude change is great. Good luck to you and the misses

I agree with all of your smoking-hiding costs. It's been so great to not stink all the time and have to constantly scrub my hands raw to get the smell out. I don't have to hide my smoking any more from my in-laws either, which is nice! Congrats to you and your wife for quitting! I just quit two weeks ago and I'm so stoked to have found a method that actually works and tastes good.

Too long, usually. The ProVari seems to have blazing reviews by most who own them. It's more pricey, but sounds like a solid product. The VAMO v3 and SID look good for the price. I try to be all for getting the best bang for buck. That's why I take so long to decide. I am (lazily) in the process of making my own Mechanical MOD at home. I'm pretty close to being done, but I only work on it here and there.

As a first MOD definitely go with a VV or VW. That will let you use most of the stuff that's out there. If you can afford a provari... How can I put it.... Oh yeah!!! GET A PROVARI... If not, it's all good.

Provari are nice mod but even then they have amazing support when something is wrong with your APV.

I've been using one of those sonic toothbrushes. Those brushes are nice. My teeth have been getting whiter. There is more motivation now to get healthy. I don't miss the shortness of breath and being winded easily. Just going up a couple flights of stairs was a bit of a chore. Working out is a lot more pleasing now. We never smoked in the house, so, didn't have to worry about extra cleaning inside.

Vaping is the only method that worked for us. We tried patches and gum which didn't work. We considered chantix, but I know of 3 people that were on it. All of them went back to smoking. So, we didn't feel it was worth the side effects to try it. Congrats on dropping the smokes and the smell!
