Ahoy there,
Whoa, a whole new world opened up for me. I had never really heard of e-cigarettes beyond people in the Netherlands who get really ill and have a hard time stopping smoking using a nicotine watervaporizer kind of machine to slowly decrease the amount of nicotine the body needs as to not cause more stress and such on top of the illness/surgery they went through.
So, there's this new advertisement on tv of some lady using an e-cigarette and blowing the smoke into a babies pushchair with a "save the planet" voiceover, which I think is totally crazy and not the point of ecigarettes, but none the less I was intrigued and started doing some research.
Mind you, I was still smoking 2 packs of marlboro's costing 7 euro's each for a grand total of around 400 euro's a month back in that long forgotten time of regular dirty cigarettes about 10 days ago.
I quickly learned about vaporizers and ordered an Joyetech Ego CC to try it out, as they are not that expensive and figured if it could save me even 25% of smoking that month I'd already earned it back money wise.
I got it not last friday but the friday before that (what's the proper way of putting in English btw?) and wow, I haven't touched another real cigarette since then without a problem.
Well one problem, I got 3 flavours with my CC, vanilla, apple and USA blend, and have been mixing them together randomly for a week and loving it so much that I ordered some bigger pure PG 30ml bottles of them and some others flavours as well to have a supply and last Friday when they arrived, I loaded up my batch of new vanilla but the taste was completely non existent. So I tried the "dark phantom" (chocolate, caramel, vanilla mix) and I only got a slight hint of chocolate on the very first drag.
I was initially very ...... at the idea that I had bought "lesser quality" e-liquids, but today I went to get some "premium quality" liquid at a local specialists smoking shop which I had learned over the weekend are starting to include e cigarette products in their inventory and got myself MORE vanilla and USA blend.
So I got home expecting to finally be able to get some nice taste in my vaping again but alas, only a very very slight hint of a speck of vanilla taste.
After some more furious googling I found these forums and the "condition" called "vapor's tongue", which I suppose fits what's going on with me not getting any flavour any more perfectly.
- I smoked a lot of cigarettes before starting vaping and stopped smoking those completely
- Was able to taste the (50/50 pg/vg) flavours just fine for a week
- Smoked only a couple of flavours, and mixed those together instead of separately
- My first batch was 50/50 PG/VG and lost my taste pretty much on the first hit of 100% PG.
Can I just keep smoking the flavours I cannot taste at the moment and some day in possibly 2 weeks orso I'll wake up and be able to taste them again? Or should I switch to some completely different e-liquids for the time being?
Thanks for reading.
PS. I think vaping is going to take over the Netherlands by storm. I haven't seen anyone else ever use one before, but in the week that I have, at least 10 people came up to me to ask about what I was doing and were really interested in trying it out for themselves. I have even officially been labelled "a ......." for being allowed to smoke inside after explaining it's not real smoke and blowing some vanilla scented apple hinted vaporcloud in their face as example.
