Hey guys and gals. I quit cigarettes about 3 month ago by vaping. Used to smoke between a pack and two a day depending on how long my day at work was. I was driving trucks so I had lots of boring alone time while I drove all around the NW between Seattle, Medford, and Eastern Oregon.

Tried vaping a year ago when my wife first got pregnant with a cheap gas station no name e-go. Didn't mind it but it quickly broke. The center pin got pushed in from over tightening.:nah:

Well we had our baby 9 months later and thought it would be good enough reason to try again. Becoming a father for the first time makes some changes inside.

Went with a cheap gas station ego again, 8 bucks, couldn't go wrong. Within a few days I got a second one to have a spare battery and an extra flavor. Within 2 weeks I was lurking on craigslist looking for good deals on vape stuff. Got an Innokin Itaste SVD, Iclear 30s, a sony vtc4 as well as two cheapos, an 18650 single charger and a bigger longer thicker brand battery that had an LCD and was VV.

I was moving along quite well within my first few weeks, still no cigarettes! :thumb:

I ordered a ten pack of knock off ce4 clearomizers, the non rebuildable kind and two 6-pack samples from vapewild.com, they sent 3 bonuses which was awesome. So now I had 17 flavors total and 12 tanks. Around that time I ordered a 4 pack of knock off kanger mini protanks as well.

Around this time I was searching vape videos on you tube any time in had spare time. I don't really watch TV BTW. I was also checking craigslist daily and I snagged an older vamo v2 in perfect condition.

My Vamo and my SVD and my mega Ego were limited to some pretty low power and I wasn't really satisfied with my vapor production. I KNEW I wanted to get into rebuilding at this point.

The day before fathers day I found a great craigslist deal on a brand new kanger sub box mini kit, with a fancy nite core charger and 2 Sony vtc4 batteries. I knew this had just come out in the past few days and it was in excellent condition. It also came with another silver subtank mini.

All I could say was wow! This is what I was talking about! That same week I got an IPV mini and 8 atomizers from a guy on craigslist for really cheap. They included a Kayfun, an orchid, a subtank plus, big dripper, stillare, dark horse among a few others. I didn't have any rebuilding supplies, just what I got with my kanger box and sub tank but I started messing around a little. I'm very hands on and good with my hands and this was right in my comfort zone.

A week later I got a nemesis mech, my first, and still only, unregulated mod. Bundled with it was a delta 2 with rba section and a tobe. All for 25 bucks!

I ordered some 24 gauge and 30 gauge kanthal and a box of koh gen do and I've started building a little. Really nothing low ohms. A few 1+ohm builds that I can run on the vamo and svd to give me a reason to still use them. Honestly I'm not sure if my Sony batteries are legit and I want to keep it safe. My lowest ohm I have is .5 in my sub ohm tanks and I don't have any problems.

I was a tootle puffer at first only doing mtl, then I was a lung inhaler with my new sub ohm tanks. After a week of only lung inhaling low nic (since my 18mg juice was crazy strong on my sub ohm tanks) I realized I sometimes want that tootle puff on some strong nicotine.

Right now my go to devices are my small box mods which I got silicone sleeves for to keep them In good shape. On top i have my sub ohm tanks or my aspire et-s with the bvc coils. These aspire tanks just really do it for me and I like that they aren't glass and I can ruff them up a bit.

I've begun to build coils for the mini protanks with cotton and drilled them out and now they are usuable. Gave them to my wife to use along with a cool fire 4 to help her kick the cigarette habit. Still hasn't worked lol.

Been trying lately to do verticle coils in my aspires, first one was great! 1.8 ohms at 15 watts, yes please! Second one I tried to do a parallel dual coil and failed miserably, will try again today.

Also as of late I began to try my own diy juice. I've had some good experiences and some bad but I'm really looking forward to trying more. My PG and vanilla custard just came in the mail and I'm anxious to mess around some more. For now I've only tried Walmart VG but hey its worked well enough!

The moral to the long story is that in the last 3 months I've been able to slowly progress into the world of vaping. Every week something new. Its become my new favorite hobby. This has helped me stay off analogs since nothing has had a chance to get old. I never even think about cigarettes anymore. I even had one a month ago just because someone else had one and the taste was so terrible! And there wasn't any vapor either lol, I threw it out after a few drags and busted out my vape. that reassured me that I'm absolutely done with cigarettes, they are just so sub par compared to vaping.

I have a great huge collection of devices and I've probably only spent 1/3rd of what I would have spent on analogs.

I can't wait to get into my RDAs, waiting to get some batteries that I know are good, like I said I think my vtc4s are fake.

All this time I've been lurking the forums here. I've ran across a few posts that I wish I could have replied to help the person out. So this is my first post on my journey to becoming a full member. Really looking forward to participating.

Sorry for the novel. I thought the best way to do my first post was with my story of how I quit cigarettes.

Sincerely
Mikey from Portland OR

Welcome to the asylum, Mikey...

Sometimes... a novel is the only way to get it all out.
