Just wanted to introduce myself here, I've been reading the forum for a week or so now and just got my first e-cig kit this past saturday. Love it so far! Haven't smoked a single cigarette since I opened the package.

I also wanted to ask a technical question about the 510 and eGo-T here, since I cannot reply to the eGo-T thread yet. Will the eGo-T atomizer fit on standard 510 batts and 5v passthroughs? I already have 3 510 batts, and I find they have a satisfactory life before needing to be recharged. I also have a 510 passthrough in the mail. I'm hoping I can buy a couple of the eGo-T atomizers and tanks and just use those with my 510 batts and the passthrough without needing to shell out the extra $ for the eGo batts (although that safety switch on the eGo-T batts does seem pretty awesome - side question, do all of the batteries that ship with the eGo-T kits have this feature, you know, the 5 click disable, etc?). I'm not worried about them looking funny or anything, just wanted to know whether they fit and whether the ohms, mAhs, and voltage will cause any compatibility issues between the two.

Thanks in advance for any help and looking forward to continued participation in this forum!

physically, the T-tank atty will fit the 510 batt, however it is larger diameter and will look/feel out of place. They are not LR (low resistance) so won't drain the battery any faster than a standard atty. My recommendation would be either pick up a "T" starter kit or a Riva starter (29.99 from LibertyFlights) and your Tanks/T-atty. You can use the ego-t stuff with the riva batts and will have an extra charger + a couple extra 510 attys for a really good price. I do beleive that all the ego-t kits have the batts with the on/off feature as standard.

Ok, well good to hear that they will fit and that they are compatible. I will definitely look into that Riva kit. I'm going google crazy and it does seem that some of the ego-t kits come without the on/off feature. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Also, I'm wondering which sites are good ones to order off of. I'm worried about getting non-genuine ego-t parts. I found a kit pretty reasonably priced on mikeusa.com, but like I said, I'm worried about that authenticity issue.

on off feature- press button 5 times fast and the power will cut off(for safety reasons). press 5 times again and power will come back on

Thanks for the response, but I was just wondering if all the ego-t batteries came with this feature. I had already read about this feature and thought it was pretty awesome, and if I order an ego-t kit, I want the batteries to have it.

Sounds good, Hopefull Quitter, now just have to decide how much I really want those batteries, seeing as how I can get the ego-t kit for 60 or the riva kit plus 2 ego-t attys and 5 empty tanks for 60 as well.

not that the riva is better, but that order with the additional ego-t attys/tanks will give you more options to explore in finding what you like, so that is the direction that I would recommend. That would give you both standard and T attys and "carts". More to experiment with and more "spare parts".

All about Options and Keeping an open mind as to what is "best" as that varries from person to person.

Dong: I agree, I do like the versatility that the riva kit plus ego-t accessories provides. Do you have any thoughts on quality comparisons between the eGo kits and the riva?

Hopefull: don't worry, the more I think about it, the more that on/off feature seems like a mere novelty - something I could remedy with a button cover if need be. I'll take your advice though and ask the vendor if I end up going the eGo-t kit route.

with a little teenage-ingenuity, you can make one yourself. my ego spends a lot of time in my pocket. thus, i got some cardboard and electrical tape and made myself a cover for the batt and cone. the cover rises just above the button so only my finger can get at it. works great. i'd show you a pic, but i have no camera

Not all EGO-Tank kit comes w/ the new 5 click on and off. Cloudsofvapor EGO-Tank kit doesn't. That the only site that I know that doesn't. Also the site you were looking at mikeusa.com, i believe that Tank kit doesn't either.
This is what they say under product details :
These are the newest genuine Joye eGo-T starter kits, the newest and best e-cigarette or electronic cigarettes. These Joye eGo-T starter kits come with 650mAh normal Joye eGo manual batteries, Joye eGo-T mega atomizers and empty semi-transparent eGo-T tank cartridges (white). With the special USB charger, 1.5-2 hours is enough to get the battery fully charged. A 100% fully charged 650mAh battery can support a heavy user vaping at least 6 hours! The Joye eGo-T starter kit is the best choice for users to start e-smoking
You see where it says normal Joye ego manual batteries. So assume they are not the new 5 clicks one.

If you planning to buy a Ego Tank full set you can try Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store., the set w/ the new batteries $79.99 + shipping

Or u can go to Liberty - Flights, they don't sell the Tank kit, but you can buy each piece individually and it will cost about $76.00 + shipping (that with (2) 1000 mah new batteries), but remember to click on 20% discount on the upper left hand corner of the website.

Or if you think you can live w/out the new batteries, you can buy Riva 510 lite bundle kit for $30.00, then buy a tank atomizer $13.59, and tank cartridge $6.39 = $49.98 + shipping at liberty-flights as well. If you prefer Joye Ego then that set is $40.00, 10 dollars more.

As for the regular 510 w/ the tank, I not really sure. Since it's not low resistance it should be ok, but you might want to ask the suppliers before going that route. But it does kind of look funny normal 510 with tank. If you want to see how that looks let me know. I have a 510 and i can put on a tank atty to show you.

I only own Egos, but I have heard waay too many favorable reviews about the riva for it to be ignored. A copy yes, but a GOOD one. As far as differences, the feel of the switch/button is the biggest difference I can tell. Ego is hard plastic and the Riva is soft/rubberized.

With the Ego-t being so new one thing I would hesitate about is batteries. The "on/off" is a great idea but pressing the buttin 5 times each to turn on/off...............most switches are given an expected life based on "switching cycles" and an off/on sequence would use 10 "cycles" in the life of the switch which could otherwise be used for a good vape! I rarely take 10 or more consecutive draws on my ego without putting it down where I might consider "turning it off".......So I would impart more wear&tear on my battery switch just turning the device on/off than I actually would while vaping. That to me is a turnoff........plus I have not in 3 months had a problem with "accidental activation" where an on/off switch would have actually been a benefit.

Standard manual batteries for me.

Pandatera: thanks for your post, it helped a good bit. Even though I am not too concerned about the looks, as I would probably only be hooking the tank atty up to my 510 passthrough in the comfort of my own home, I am kind of curious to see what it would look like on the 510 battery. If you could somehow send me a pic or post one on here, that'd be cool. Have you used the tank atty with your 510 battery, and did it work?

Yeah, I didn't think about that, and you're right, it's always a good idea to wait a bit after the initial production run and see what people say and if any problems show up. Good call.

One w/ a Joye 510 battery, the other one w/ the Riva.
Didn't try to vape w/ the Joye 510 batteries though.
