The passthru is the same size as the 510 batteries right? The button location is at the same place?
Hope these photos will give you a better idea

I realize I'm new, but I've been reading the forum for a very long time. You can use a 510 batt, but I'd be concerned with frying your atomizer earlier than normal. Im not really an expert, though and i could be wrong. The eGo batteries work great with tanks and last a long time before needing a recharge. At least for me.

Why would you fry the atomizer early, if using a 3.7V 510 batt?

Not all EGO-Tank kit comes w/ the new 5 click on and off. Cloudsofvapor EGO-Tank kit doesn't. That the only site that I know that doesn't. Also the site you were looking at mikeusa.com, i believe that Tank kit doesn't either.
This is what they say under product details :

You see where it says normal Joye ego manual batteries. So assume they are not the new 5 clicks one.

If you planning to buy a Ego Tank full set you can try Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store., the set w/ the new batteries $79.99 + shipping

Or u can go to Liberty - Flights, they don't sell the Tank kit, but you can buy each piece individually and it will cost about $76.00 + shipping (that with (2) 1000 mah new batteries), but remember to click on 20% discount on the upper left hand corner of the website.

Or if you think you can live w/out the new batteries, you can buy Riva 510 lite bundle kit for $30.00, then buy a tank atomizer $13.59, and tank cartridge $6.39 = $49.98 + shipping at liberty-flights as well. If you prefer Joye Ego then that set is $40.00, 10 dollars more.

As for the regular 510 w/ the tank, I not really sure. Since it's not low resistance it should be ok, but you might want to ask the suppliers before going that route. But it does kind of look funny normal 510 with tank. If you want to see how that looks let me know. I have a 510 and i can put on a tank atty to show you.

Hello everyone! I have been off the analogs since Friday Jan 28 at 5pm!..was a pack a day for 13 years! Thanks to this site and everyone's input I purchased an ego from liberty-flights and glad I did! I'll get more into my story in another thread I just wanted to mention that I just noticed that liberty- flights just got more ego kits in for their ecf sale price of $39.99. I was lucky to get in on the last sale they had but if I didn't read so much on this site I would have payed $59.99 from another site! This is a great deal and I had a great experience with Abe @ liberty-flights and will definatly order more from him. Gonna place an order for tank parts soon with the 20% off u can get the t-atty and 5 pack of tanks for $19.99 +$2.99 for shipping! Great deal Im thinking..just wanted to let the op know about the sale so maybe that will help him to make a decision.

Thanks pandatera, that helps a bunch!

Dsmeerkat: hello! funny to see you're from Martinsburg... I'm actually in Morgantown for school, but am originally from Frederick, MD.

Also, a new issue has possibly presented itself. Would the tank atty be alright with a 5v passthrough? Someone mentioned elsewhere that it might get fried or the life would be a lot shorter because of this.

They will work. You might get lower battery life, but not significantly. An standard Ego batt is rated at 650mah. Both the Ego and the 510 attys are 2.5 ohms, so the power draw is identical.

I think that Ego batts are a good investment, especially if you have to rely on 510 bats when you go out. 1 1/2 hours vs 5-6 hours is worth the difference in price when it's time to buy new ones anyway. 4 510 batts at $8 = $32. You can get the Ego type batts for $18 or less.

Well I took the dive. Even though I only have had my 510 for 4 days, I'm already upgrading, LOL. I ordered the Riva 510 SE from LF along with an ego-t atty and some blank carts. I've sunk a lot of money into this habit initially, here's to hoping it will generate some long term savings. This new realm of nicotine delivery is pretty awesome, but being a tech-geek, I'm definitely going to have to try hard to restrain myself from buying a new goody every time I get some extra $, haha.
