Hey all. Long time smoker here.

Not really interested in quiting (yet), but I'm really tired of having to step out into a blizzard to smoke. I've also got an asthmatic daughter, so smoking analogs in the house is out of the question. I ordered a 510 starter kit and a bottle of juice last night, gonna give vaping a shot and see how I like it.

My partner (VanderVape here on ECF) and I are in Cheyenne! Nice to meet ya! My mom let me know just a few mins ago that there was an earthquake about 10 miles from here and she actually felt her house shake! Lol

Switching from smoking to vaping was definitely the best decision I have ever made. And considering the wind chill is -26, I'm REALLY happy that I don't have to go out to an un-insulated garage to smoke!

Sounds like you've made a good choice of a starter kit. And maybe later down the road and if/when you find out that vaping is what you want to do, you can upgrade to an eGo...which is what I have (and it's AWESOME, btw).

Good luck to ya and happy vaping! :)

Hello fellow Wyomingite, I'm here in Thermopolis. I to didn't plan to stop smoking, it just happens. I still do an analog once in a while, maybe just a reminder of how bad they taste, yukky!!! 17 below here last night, gonna be colder tonight! Hope you are staying warm, oh...and welcome to the forum. Great people here, get your questions answered quickly and is a great place not only for information but also encouragement. I vape the 510 and the Ego PT, love them both. Find your favorite juices and you won't believe how good it is! Keep us posted on your vaping journey.

I guess I may need to rephrase that. I don't plan on quiting my nicotien, I just want to get away from second hand smoke, and maybe find something that's healthier for me in the process. Then again, if this leads to me quitting altogether, I'm ok with that too.

Edit: Wow, the replies are coming quick. Good to know there are others from WY here. We had -6 this morning without the wind chill. With the wind its down below -20. Another reason not to go outside for a smoke.

Well glad to see that you are at least going to "try" ecigs.
Many of us were just going to "try them" as well.
And a funny thing happened along the way.....
The analgos got their trial run as well....to the trash can
and that is where they have stayed.
Please take the time to read here, watch YouTube videos
and learn as much as you can as this will help elevate your
overall vaping experience.

Vape on!

Well, I got my starter kit and can honestly say that the sample cartrages are horrible. However, I had a bottle of Menthol juice with my order and thank god I did. It's not the same as smoking a real menthol, but it's way better than the sample "tobacco" that came with the kit.
It took a little getting used to at first. The vapor seems a bit heavier than the smoke I'm used to, so once I started taking smaller drags I was fine. I haven't had an urge for a cigarrette in almost 2 days now.

I took the kit into work yesterday to show some of my coworkers. After telling them about my 510, and letting them try it, they were very interested. So interested that they had me add a couple 510 kits in on my order for more/other juices.

Hi Beachernaut. Welcome.

Good decision you have made - especially when you have an asthmatic daughter.

And...it seems that you have already passed "the point of no return" - 2 days without an analog. YAY ! for you.
The transition happens soooooo quickly once you realize that you are not giving anything up - just vaping in stead of smoking.

Hang in, and good luck to you. :)

I think you will be pleasantly suprised when you get your starter kit and start vaping! The taste is so much cleaner, more direct than an analog! I planned on quitting when I got mine, but I had tried quitting so many times and failed miserably that I didn't have very high expectations. Imagine my surprise when I absolutely loved everything about the experience! I haven't touched a cigarette since!

I was in Ft. Collins and Cheyenne the day you posted this. My dear God was it cold on 2/1!

Hey, all you Windy Staters! :) (I hear tell that in Niobrara county, you can use a logging chain for a windsock at the airport ... do they even have an airport over there?)

I don't see a Wyoming sub-forum, but we'd be happy to have to you pop in over at CoVapE. We're working on our 2nd meetup. We have some folks up N in Ft. Collins area too.
