Hello, got few questions ...
I've been vaping alot of e juices and i decided to start making my own e juice.
I've had succes with t- juice aromas that i used drops to make my juice.(friend always told how many drops i need to add)
But... I started using TPA aromas. so my question is this:
I've read somewhere syringe is best way to make own e juice, but i dont how what the precentages means.
so lets say: i saw 12% for 10 ml bottle means i need to add 12% 0,83 ml of aroma and all whats left i add 50/50 pg vg base? yes?
I've used TPA Bavarian cream with drops and energy drink (TPA) with drops and i've had no succes. tastes nothink or i add more drops it tastes still nothink but i get big throat hit. Any help here?
Btw, i would also want to know rcommended % for my current those 2 aromas...

I would suggest using a DIY recipe calculator. You can google and find one that fits your needs

Onto your question... The % is the percent of all your liquid. So 12% of of 10ml should be 1.2ml of your flavoring and the rest is all the other liquids that go in to make 10ml. So that will include the base, which is your PG and/or VG. Typically juice consists of Nicotine, Base liquid and flavoring. So 12% is the % of the total liquids. You can also search the DIY forums for more information

Using a syringe for drops will provide a consistent size drop. In general 20-35 drops are equal to 1 ml.
Some recipes/mixes need to steep or age for the flavour to fully develop...I shake and vape fruit flavours; tobacco and cream flavours seem better after 2 or 3 weeks.

My number 1, go to, must have, flavour is TPA Double RY-4.
10% for Mrs. Izan and 5% for me, Steep/age at least 21 days.

Welcome and have fun

I mix my juices Turbo999 and find syringes and droppers are plenty accurate for basic juice making. Main thing is to know (actually measure) how many drops per ml for that particular dropper. If a juice recipe calls for 12% flavoring and you are making a 10 ml batch that would be 1.2 ml of total flavor in the mix. However if the flavoring is itself a mix, perhaps 75% Cinnamon and 25% EM, then the 1.2 ml of total flavor would consist of .9 ml Cinnamon and .3 ml EM. If your dropper is 20 drops per ml then 24 drops would equal the 1.2 ml. 18 drops Cinnamon and 6 drops EM. A juice calculator is handy to have as is a selection of syringe sizes and various tip lengths/diameters.

well. used drops but it wasnt accurate for my e juice. bought syringes gonna try how it goes.
Btw guys, does tpa energy drink need any steeping? im going to mix at 7% and if doesnt end well gonna go for 10% max
Sorry, Izan doesn't like HATES energy drink, flavour or otherwise.

Count the drops: Count the drops needed to equal 1ml from a flavour bottle into a graduated syringe. Then you can use drops or ML interchangeably.
Write this number on the bottom of the flavour bottle, so it is handy.

FIY: 100 drops method.
"The 100DT method uses one drop to represent 1% of the mix. So, for example, if I use 10% of one flavoring, that would be 10 drops, 5% of another flavoring would be 5 drops, 6% nicotine (at 100 mg/ml) would be 6 drops. 64% VG would be 64 drops, etc. In this way, 100 drops would equal 100% of the mix. To get to a .5% number, for example, simply add a couple of drops of the flavoring to a couple of drops of the primary carrier base (VG, for example), and remove one drop from that 50/50 mix (for .5% of mix). 100 drops, 100%, all well and good.

Cheers

I think the more reliable way to measure would be with a scale and grams. I have seen a few DIY'ers use this method and it seems (to me) more fundamentally sound lol.

In truth, you are probably correct. If you can measure very small weights with the right sort of scales, then yes.
However, the easiest way wins when it comes to DIY i.m.o. unless you want to sweat time and effort on it.
12% is an easy mix with syringes. One that uses lots of ingredients would be close to impossible without the scales or a wide variety of syringes.
Yup... so I agree overall but don't personally do it.

Gram scales and supper accurate isn't needed. Close enough is good enough.
Amen.

I've been using syringes and baby medicine dosing cups since day one and I never worried whether I was a little over on this or a little under on that.

It's like making cathead biscuits. About two cups of flour. About a cup of buttermilk. About two tbsp of oil. About two tsp baking powder. Smidge or two of salt.

Most of what I mix is one of 5 mixes that I like and mix into 100 ml or 60 ml bottles. I use syringes to get quantities of the flavors and nicotine. 1/10th ml of the flavors or nic base used isn't really going to make much difference. I can not tell the difference from one batch to the next so that is accurate enough for me.

The nicotine is at 3 mg....Whether it turns out to be 2.9 or 3.1 mg is of no consequence.

even with an accurate gram scale which must be level to remain accurate, I doubt there is much if any more accuracy. Besides you have to somehow weight what a certain volume weights. If you are doing this with a marked ml container, you still have to make sure the ML is 100% accurate to have 100% accurate weight.

If I were selling my liquids, then I'd be dead nuts accurate. Every bottle of the same flavor has to taste exactly the same as the previous bottle. But just as importantly, it has to cost the same to produce.

I'm a "Syringe" mixer and I think it's very accurate provided you're not trying to split hairs...As others have mentioned whether it's your nic content or flavors a smidge more or less isn't going to make a huge difference...But there is no doubt that as in Baking the most accurate is by weight...Some find mixing by weight easier...But for me the easiest is straight into the bottle by percentages...What ever works best for you go for it...DIY is way to go !!!

I'd suggest that you get a juice calculator and play around with it and it should begin making some sense. If not ask for advice on a particular part. When I first began mixing e liquid I would mix and use but then ran into some flavors that had no taste as you mentioned. After sitting around a month or so I tried the tasteless flavors again and found there was now flavor. I started using the Quick Steeping method. You place the bottles to be steeped into warm water for 6 hours. Temp of the water should be 130 F, don't go over 150 F. There are a few kitchen appliances that can be used for that temp. Some people just use any heat source, warm water in a thermos.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Syringe vs weight/scale? Whatever works best for you. Percentages are covered in the basic information below. You Tube may help you get the feel of mixing.
