Hi I am very new to vaping and need lots of help setting up this Egrip2 by Joytech.I have no clue how to set this thing up or even what some of the abbreviations mean. The dam thing keeps popping and burning my tongue. half of the time i cant get a decent hit off of it no matter how hard i draw please help
First, welcome to ecf.
Please tell us at what setting you have on the mod....i.e. watts selected? Temp control?

What does the actual coil have written on it, are the ohms showing on the display?

What strength of nicotine are you using?

Popping usually indicates you have set the mod too high, try turning it down a little.
Do you know if the coil is kanthal or one that is used with tc instead of watts?(goes back to what is written on the coil)

Any one of these can make a difference in performance.

You should not have to drawl hard on this type of ecig. How thick is your ejuice?

Did you "prime" the coil correctly prior to adding e-liquid to the tank? (see videos below)

You may need to adjust the airflow on the tank to your preferred puffing style. (see videos)

Depending upon what coils you are using, you may need to change the power setting (wattage or temp control).

YouTube can be your friend and personal video instructor. Watch the two tutorials above for your device, and if you still have ANY questions, ask away.

I've written a couple of blogs for beginner vapers. Skim over these as they have some helpful tips.

Hello and thanks for responding .. so here is an update for all of you that responded (please excuse my typings and grammar and all that .. i know it sucks .. [edited] any ways I took the device back to where i got it.. they looked at it and just gave me a new one (very cool i thought )so now i have a new one the type on the coil says 15-30 watts ( the guy put the medium that comes with it) I have it set to 17.0 and the coil on the display says 0.52 ( with a horseshoe looking thing after it nicotine is set at 36 as far as thickness of e-juice ?? ( huh???) anyways it seems to be working (for now) not burning my tongue anymore and still pops a lil but nothing like before i am leary of going into the settings again to get more info because i don't want to screw this thing up again

Did you watch the the video a couple posts up? Do you know how to turn the watts down? Read the manual that came with?
If the coil says 30-50 watts why are you at 80?

You can't treat these devices like a cigarette because they are not. Have you looked into how to use them? Stickies at top of the new members thread?

The little horseshoe symbol is the ohm.....the resistance of the coil. Settings are usually to the ohm of the coil which you state is 0.52. Put the power(wattage) down lower.

The other thing is if your drip tip (part that you put in your mouth) is metal get another one that is not metal. Go back to your shop and look at their drip tips, and tell them you want one to fit your device. That should take care of the hotness you are experiencing.
You have to slow down when you draw on these devices. Again, they are not cigarettes and you have to give the coil time to refill with the ejuice. Continuing to draw non stop is what is getting it hot. Take a couple of draws and then put it down for a few minutes. If you want to vape non stop you need more than one device to use.

i have the power set at 17 the 80 is on a different screen also the tip i have on it is plastic the heat is coming from the inside ... if i could post a picture on here maybe that would help? trying to turn the power where it says 80 down right now as for watching the videos i did but they don't really go into the settings.. so im kinda lost ..I did however figure out how to set the clock.. thank you for helping me

ok so now i figured out through the vids.. that I.E if the coil says ss316 you have to tell the device what kind of coil you have in it right??

Yes. But try taking the whole tank off the mod.....then hit the power button and let it tell you 'no atomizer'. Then put the tank back on. It may ask you if 'new atomizer'. If it does then press the button it tells you. This may set it automatic. It works on some mods but don't know if it will on this one. Worth a try.

Tips made of other materials can help disburse the heat a little. Metal will always heat up fast. Just be careful with plastic, don't get it too hot.

Ok so, i messed this thing up .. again right now the display says tcr120 m3 210 c power 80.0 coil0.52 puff 00132
The m3 could be from the mods settings. Some mods have settings set to memory so see if changing to another memory will help, if all else fails.

:pervy::pervy:Ok cool now .. its not getting hot unless i do a long pull very little popping taste better.. not what do you guys call it ?? "cloud chasing" but getting a good amount I am happy thank you all for your help I amnow a very rank ameture to vaping :):)
It is always good to have at least one more mod handy(a backup) just in case something were to happen to this one. Don't want to grab a smoke because your device fails. Then you would have to start all over. Plus if you chain vape like I do, then you won't have to worry about overheating it. Just take a few tokes off of one then grab the other one, giving the first one a chance to cool off.
