Just wanted to pop by and say hello. I found this forum on accident and I'm so glad! I've been vaping off and on (mostly on) since about 2015. I had a heart attack at.. 23? You'd think I would have that burned into my memory... anywhoo, that's why I switched from cigarettes to vaping.

I have a couple questions, if y'all don't mind!
1. What tank/coil do you suggest for 70/30-80/20 VG/PG juice?
I use the freeman mesh pro 2, with the M4 0.15ohm mesh coils and they are BURNING UP SO FAST. I have struggled with this for quite some time, different big coils just burning up. But then gimme one with 1-2 in it and it'll last 2 weeks. Obviously there's a wattage and ohm difference, usually the amller ones in a cheapo tank last longer but I run them between 40 and 60w and the bigger ones I run from 60-80w but they're meant to be used for 80-120w supposedly, and they burn up in 1-2 days sometimes. I do vape like...all day unless I get busy. I'm just looking for a way to get a tank and coil set up that I don't have to build myself and will last for 1-2 weeks with sweet juices (I have some sensory issues, I cannot..CANNOT touch that cotton wicking material...I just can't)

2. What are some (sweet/fruity) juice brands/flavors you'd suggest?

I recently have been hooked on Twist green no. 1 (honeydew melon chew) mixed with a hint of Twist white gummy, and red star vapors raider which is pink champagne, raspberry, and...I don't remember what else lol. I like to mix a few together when I get bored of one flavor.

Thanks for any and all help! I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm using the voopoo drag mod, and two 18650 hohmwork (hohmtech) batteries.

Hi and welcome to ECF. The problem that you are having with your coils burning out so quickly is the sweet juices. Most premixed juices add sweeteners which are real coil gunkers. Have you considered DIY juice? It may sound intimidating at first, but it's not as hard as it sounds. You can play around with simple recipes or even single flavors until you get the hang of it. Most of the time you do not need sweeteners, thus your coils will last longer. However, if you choose to go this route, you must act right away and order your nicotine ASAP. There is an imminent mail ban in a couple of weeks where nicotine cannot be shipped. The rest of the supplies are not affected by the ban and there is no rush, but you would want to order as many liters/gallons of 100mg/ml or higher nicotine as you can afford and have freezer space to store. We can help you to learn how to DIY. It isn't hard. Let us know if that's something you would want.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
    sweet juices

...are a problem for coil longevity, as is dark color.

I used to vape a strawberry juice that would kill my factory coils in 2-3 days. Even rebuildables would get so gunked up that the vapor production would reduce to unvapable levels within the same timeframe. So I stopped vaping that juice. Saving money with vaping is more important to me than being able to vape any flavor I want. May want to consider trying to get used to less sweet juices.

    Hello and welcome!

I use the freeman mesh pro 2, with the M4 0.15ohm mesh coils and they are BURNING UP SO FAST.

Unfortunately (and as others have said), coil life mostly depends on how much you vape and the particular juices you vape. Darkness and/or sweetness tend to be coil killers. You're not likely to get much better performance on any other drop-in coils. There are two things that might work for you:
    • Increasing your nicotine levels might help you vape less. Vaping frequency can be about nicotine, or it can be more about the hand-to-mouth and flavour aspects. If you're vaping for the nicotine, increasing it can help you vape less. If you're doing it more for habit or flavour, you're better off not changing your nicotine because you'll probably end up just consuming more nicotine.
    • @Territoo's DIY suggestion is a good one. Vape juice is always sweet because of the VG, so you might be able to find/make flavours you like without as much sweetener as commercial juices. As you like mixing the flavours you have, you sound like a good candidate for DIY. Also, the cost savings from DIY could help pay for your coils!

(I have some sensory issues, I cannot..CANNOT touch that cotton wicking material...I just can't)

Rayon wicking is increasingly common now. It feels like cotton in some ways and it's different in others, so whether it's an option will depend on which trait of cotton is causing the problem. Rayon has long fibres like cotton, but it's also somewhat smoother.

Thanks for any and all help! I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm using the voopoo drag mod, and two 18650 hohmwork (hohmtech) batteries.

Are you familiar with how to select batteries, and issues like rewraps and counterfeits? It's generally recommended to use batteries from either Molicel or one of the major manufacturers (Sony / Murata, Sanyo / Panasonic, Samsung, or LG), although Hohm Tech does seem to be the one exception with accurate ratings. If I recall correctly, they're on the pricier side. Anyway, if you'd like to know more about batteries, feel free to ask here or in the Batteries and Chargers subforum.
