By the way... Even though you can run a dual coil in a kayfun.... The vape will be better imho if you build a single coil.

And go read as much as you can on battery safety.... There is no built in safety in a mech mod, the only safety you get is your knowledge of how mechs works.

If I were you I would put the mech aside for now and get a good regulated electronic mod like the MVP 20Watts or the eleaf istick... That way you can concentrate on your built without worrying to much of hurting your battery.

Ohms Law and how it relates to battery amp limit is knowledge you absolutely need to have in order to use mechs properly and more importantly, safely.

EBay is probably the worst place to buy batteries. A lot of fakes are being sold....

RTD Vapor is pretty well trusted.

I would not go back to the shop.
I'm UK btw if you have any links?
I'm not trust me haha!! I know a guy who owns a vape shop but he wasn't open today so couldn't take it to him so might try him tomorrow (Also i'll tell him the coils have to be directly above the air flow hole)

I think that cloud9vaping is good... but dont quote me on that.... You could start a new tread asking for trusted UK vendors for batteries.

Just wired it with one coil and it works fine, i'm going to leave it alone for two reasons haha. I bodged it with some of the coil the idiot trimmed off in the shop and 2. The way you talked about the battery i have scares me haha

If you haven't already found it, this could be of some help. UK and Ireland Suppliers
I shall have a look at some suppliers when i wake up tomorrow.
What honestly is the best battery and should i say "Safest" battery to go with for my Panzer 26650?
I have no idea which one to get, i'm still in the reading all about safety & batteries etc etc..

Hello and welcome to the forum Fanboy7s. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are new to mech mods and rebuildables I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs. You are now 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you). Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Baditudes Blogs. The blogs regarding mods and rebuildables are listed below:

BATTERIES

9. Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

17. Purple Efest Batteries Not As Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

14. Ohm's Law for Dummies (Vapers)
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

16. Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

MECHANICAL MODS & REBUILDABLES

7. Information Resources for Your First RBA
* An essential read and reference guide for someone new to rebuilding coils. Includes a multitude of useful links on battery safety, mod safety, coil meters, coil building, and the differences in the three types of RBA's.

15. Inexpensive Mechanical Mod and RDA Setup
* A response to the frequently asked question on how to get into rebuildable atomizers with a mechanical mod inexpensively. Includes a list of commonly used tools and supplies for rebuilding and where to find them.

Here's a clip from a post by djsvapour to another UK member earlier today regarding buying a starter kit:

Welcome Jugglingduck.

Normally, I do lecture-length replies. Oh, yes... especially for new UK people.

Since you have banned me from waffle, I'll say this;

Shop at Vape Escape (the best) Myepack (the cheapest) or Cloud9 (the poshest).

Go anywhere else and expect to have your wallet ripped apart by a large shark called Kenny that likes to eat paypal accounts for Christmas Lunch.

Do NOT shop at
1. Totally Wicked, unless you actually visit a store (that's OK), because they charge you high street prices online, which is mean.
2. UKecigstore, because they couldn't give a flying **** if you get your gear or it even works.

Both of these are top of google... no surprise there then. Money buys search engines. :( <snip>

I'm sure if you PMed him he would be more than happy to share any info he had regarding purchasing batteries: djsvapour

Learn enough to know if the guy os a douche. Get yourself an ohm meter, MUST have. Make sure he uses one at the shop. God for all you know he used aluminum wire! Should be using kanthal or nichrome or in some cases nickel. And if your battery is 5000mAh I'd bet the amp load is somewhere between 7-10 in which case you're gonna blow your face off.

Hang out on the forum, read up on building and for $15 bucks or so you'll pick up your desired wire (28g is always a good happy medium for many build types as long as you're not super subbing) and an ohm reader. Never put coils on without checking resistence. NEVER.

Also, if you stay with a few of the preferred batteries around here (sony's, mnke, efest, xtar, mxjo....make sure they are 20amp or above) and you won't need to worry about your resistence so much. They can all handle .3 ohms at the lowest though many like to test their luck with lower....
