Hi there I am new here, just registered a couple of days ago.
Short intro: Last week during our annual open enrollment for our company benefits we were told that all of our companies campuses would be tobacco free by November 2013. No real surprise as a lot of companies are doing this for health care cost reasons. My wife and I both smoke and we work for the same company and I started thinking this past weekend about alternatives and found this very useful and informative website/forum.
My wife and I are not heavy smokers, a PAD or less and mostly less. So after reading a lot we (read that I) decided to start with the Volt starter kit from smokelessimage.com. Lots a great reviews and an inexpensive starter kit. We should have those tomorrow (11/15/12) and I'll let you know how it goes.....
.
I did have a question, and am looking for some help. Others at my office are looking into e-cig/vaping alternatives and have spoken to our HR department about it. I have been asked to find studies/reports on the benefits/risks of e-cigs and nicotine. I have been looking for, but am having a hard time finding any studies/reports that actually separate tobacco use from nicotine use and the effects of either. It seems they want to demonize the use of nicotine along with the delivery system. I have tried searching this forum but am coming up blank. So I am hoping that some of you can point me in a direction of inquiry that would help.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and I look forward to becoming tobacco free my self will still being able to enjoy the use of nicotine.
