You wanna go off the record for a minute??

This morning I built a K4 at 1.8Ω, cooked up some 50/50 plain with a drop of menthol. I did the nic at 10mg cause 12 tastes disgusting to me these days.

Actually holding a Lemo 2 on a mech right now. At . 5. Stock coil, gonna do nickel long term.

I don't turn my nose up at anything.

Back on the record...............

TOOTLE PUFFERS ARE MURDERERS. DO YOU HEAR ME?? I SAY MURDERERS!!!!!!!!
Ha!!! Didn't get me that time. I put what's left of my tea down before reading.

:)

A kayfun? Absolutely. The only leakage problems I ever saw with a kayfun was in changes of air pressure -- hot humidity to cool AC -- or if something was wrong with one of the o-rings.

I never had much luck with the not leaking part with the authentic kayfun I bought once upon a time, that darn thing leaked from the airflow hole no matter what I tried.

They tend to do that if you tighten the tank sections to tightly. Tight is tight, they don't need to be any tighter.

The wicking on a KF can be tricky. If you put what looks like the right amount in there, it's way too much and it will flood. Less is more.

I honestly gave up on it and gave it to a friend ....who never did thank me for that o_O I never did well with exercises in frustration. At the time I tried every suggestion/trick in the book with the same leaky results...
I think it was personal and it had it in for me

And thx for that handcheck, BTW... I hadn't looked at it in a while, to see that I needed to plug 'er in. So I'm on one of my iStick30's till it charges; takes too long to charge if I do the pass-thru. :thumb:

10pack 10x x10 Replacement Top Fill Cap Kayfun RTA Rebuildable Atomizers Lot | eBay
Keep thinking about something like this, but never remember it on payday. Haven't see it anywhere besides e-bunk either, so...

I picked up a couple of those from FastTech. They work well. As long as you remember to twist the top cap closed again after filling. I don't know why I'm so prone to forgetting, I never forget to put the screw back in on the ones I bottom fill.

Still happily MTL tootling on my KFs.

Overtightening can squash and deform the o-rings, yup.

But the biggest cause of leaks I've seen on my 8 KFs is a mis-aligned o-ring where the chimney goes through.

Wicking.... well, each material behaves differently. I use rayon, and it needs to be pretty snug. Cotton, no, since it will expand when wet. But getting the coil itself too low, too close to the air intake is a sure road to leaks!

Well, the bottom screw missing will let you know right away! :w00t:

Strange, I have (7) and rarely ever saw a drop of liquid escaping. My wife now uses (2) of then as her daily tanks.
My Orchids have (2) large holes right on the deck and never leak during use.
Filling can cause some liquid spill into the airway. a quick blowout into a tissue and wipe later all is good to go.

Boge XL 1.7ohm Carto on a Spinner delivers a nice MTL Vape and it's been around forever.:)
Toss a F-16 Caro tank on a spinner or small mod and enjoy MTL for weeks with the right juices. Another long term solution. I have a Block of 1.7ohm laser drilled cartos.(Block=10x5 carto packs)

May tootle puffing be long lived. I see the way industry is going and people over in the Joyetech eRoll topic getting pretty upset that these are harder to come by, so many vendors dumping inventory.

Some people have NO IDEA how wedded eRoll users are to their little device. Many of them have NEVER upgraded from the cigalike form factor, and quit smoking solely with their eRoll. And, still use it every day and some still do not even own other things.

Last year, a vendor tried to "talk me out of" the Joyetech eCab I was ordering.

Altsmoke no longer makes the "baby" Bullet. Provari discontiinued the 14500 Provape.

These are not good things IMHO.

my interest in vaping waned in direct relationship to all the big stuff, as I have no interest in buying $35 dual and triple coil clearos, nor anything that goes above 10 watts. :) And I have never wanted to build a coil.....I can do it easily but I just don't want to do that at ALL.

so thank you for the topic. :)

Good stuff here, my lil horsie. What do you think...... is the community driving the manufacturers, or vice versa...

I can understand online shops not selling starter gear. A new vaper needs someone to show them how things work. For a B&M shop to neglect drawing in smokers who want to quit seems rather odd.

Might I be so bold as to say "WRONG" in lieu of "odd"?

I think you quoted the wrong person.

That said, I think it depends where you live. Around here most vapers are 30 or older. They want to vape like they smoked. Most think big plumes of vapor is obnoxious and want MTL tanks and ego type battery's. There are a few younger (late 20s) that hang out at the juice bar at the one shop that has one. They are the only people I see with box mods and drippers.

    Different places different demographics.

I'm moving to your neck of the woods. I'm in Kali-forn-i-aye. Nuff said.

Hand check? Let's see if this works, apparently I've been picture-deficient lately.

I cleaned the menthol out of my Protank 2, filled it with Brass Knuckles and mounted it on the Sigelei mini. 1.6ohms at 12w. I can puff on this thing for ten seconds straight.
